My mom got a 40% off coupon this week, so we went to the store. My mom has worked retail for over 40 years and I’ve been in the hospitality industry for over 15. I grabbed about 8 items and headed to the fitting room in the juniors area. Sign on the door said temporarily closed. I headed over to the intimates section for that fitting room instead. It also had a closed sign. I walked over to the men’s department and asked my mom if she saw any open fitting rooms she said no. The men’s also said closed. Then we walked to the children’s section, that one was locked. We decided to look through the shoe section and head back by the juniors fitting room that said temporarily closed to see if it was open yet. Still no. I then walked around to find an employee. I asked if any of the fitting rooms were open. She said no they close at 7pm. I look at my watch it’s 6:58:pm. That means they closed well before 7pm after me wasting time, walking all around the store trying to find a fitting room. My mom finds another lady close by and asks if there is a store manager we can speak with. Her response was no but I’m a manager how can I help. My mom asks why we can’t use a fitting room. She immediately gets rude and defensive and said they close at 7pm, we said well we were looking for one well before 7pm and they all said closed. She said well they had to close it to clean up pins and straighten up. We said well did they had to do that in every fitting room at the same time? she said the one on the side you just ask for a key and they can help you. We said we just asked if any fitting room was open and the other lady said no. She said well it’s only 4 items anyway and walked away. I said well if I can’t try anything on I’m not buying it. I would have spent well over $100 today, but I refuse to give that store my business due to the rudeness of that employee. It sucks too because I won’t be able to make it to the Lehigh valley store by the time my...
Read moreMICHELLE THE SALON MANAGER DISCRIMINATED ME AND MY FAMILY. She is by far anything but professional. She needs to lose her job as a salon manager as she hid products instead of selling us it because we spoke another language. Refusing to sell is one thing but hiding your products in front of us is another thing. The embarrassment and disrespect that we experienced by her and her colleagues is disgraceful. I will be contacting headquarters and letting them know the horrific experience we encountered. Another supervisor, Jenny, hid the stuff we were looking for so we don’t buy it because we spoke in a different language. They refused to sell us because we are Muslims and we were speaking in a different language. I am allowed to speak whatever language I choose this is a free country. This is harassment and against the law. They hid their products we were looking for that were on sale, in front of our eyes, and said that they did not have what we were looking for. I am speaking to headquarters about this racist encounter that we experienced. We were harassed and also refused to provide me their names. I am going to speak to the general manager and see how she allows her managers and employees to act like this. A video was captured of how they treated us. Please don’t shop here they don’t accept people from other races to talk in their language. They all knew what they did and refused to give any names because it’s against the law to refuse to sell because we speak a different language. JCPENNEY DOES NOT SUPPORT DIVERSITY and FREEDOM OF SPEECH. DO NOT SHOP HERE IF YOU SPEAK ANOTHER LANGUAGE OTHER THAN ENGLISH. Been 2 weeks the district manager did not reach out to apologize for what happened or the manager...
Read moreAs soon as I walked into the store and picked up a piece of clothing I was followed and harassed by an old lady working there.
I was bombarded with questions and told her "I'm good" several times before she left me alone. Immediately after I started walking away she began speeding around corners to follow me and stare me down. I noticed immediately and it made me extremely uncomfortable as I just wanted a chance to browse around. I decided to put the clothing back after about two more minutes of clearly being followed and leave because of this. As I started walking towards the exit her and another worker that she brought with her stood and stared at me until I got close to them, and the old lady began repeatedly asking "where's the jacket?" as if she were accusing me of stealing it, when I clearly had nothing on me. I asked her "what?" and "why?" and told her that I don't have it, and she proceeded to ask me where it is again. After I finally told her that I put it back she left me alone, but had no response to me asking what her issue is and calling her out for following me throughout the store. Even during my whole walk out of the store she stared at me. It is disgusting for an employee to act in such an unwelcoming, and hostile way. If you enjoy being harassed and made uncomfortable by employees then this is the perfect...
