Its obvious, thier response is cut/paste. Ive been driving 4 hours to Tampa every weekend for the past month and this is the worst experience of all the hotels in the area. I stayed at this hotel because its relatively close to the hospital my dad is at. I checked in for my 2 night reservation and was placed in a room that was out dated and had an old dirty smell, assuming coming from the carpet. Upon putting my things down i noticed dirt, hair, and a wet spot on the beds. I gathered my things and asked front desk to move me. Done, no problem, and even verified once again, i was staying for 2 nights. The next room had vinyl flooring, a pleasant smell, and actual clean sheets. Next morning comes, 1030am housekeeping knocks which seemed weird for that hour. And before I could get out of bed, the housekeeper opens the door and sees me in my undergarments. About 1 hour later, another knock, I yell no thank you. Knocker then proceeds to ask if check out today. I yell back no. An hour later another knock. I'm naked, about to jump in the shower, and fed up at this point, so I start yelling behind the door- no, no thank you, no mas por favor, go away! I jump in the shower, more knocks. Every 30 seconds, each getting harder and longer. I had to cut my shower short wrap myself in a towel, and open the door thinking there's a fire or something urgent. I proceed to get yelled at by hotel staff and asking me what am I doing in this room and that im not authorized and telling me that this going to be escalated, assuming calling the cops on me. I had to get my phone and show this lady my reservations. She took a picture with her phone and once again told me this was going to be escalated. I yelled beck and told her I would appreciate if she does and assured her I would be asssiting in that process. Mind you, my room door faces an IHOP restaurant about 50 feet away and there were people who could see me standing at the doorway in a towel and shower cap on. I was now fearful of leaving my belongings behind while I go visit my dad, so I had to take some time to find the correct contact and attempt to call corporate. The closest I could get was customer service request to open a complaint. The guy listened and offered to call front desk to investigate. After a 1-2 minute hold, he comes back to inform me that they apolized for the confusion because they came to me first before exploring other possibilities beforehand. That was all he could do for me. It seems like my attempt to submit a concern/experience was concluded resolved and closed. I personally feel like there should be more than just an im sorry. Why didnt they just call the room phone you ask? Because it doesn't work. Any concerns or needs I had, had to be walked up to front desk or called in via personal phone. I was also depending on the wifi that was advertised at time of booking. That also was not working. During my 2 night stay, I removed about 7 of these bugs. They dont bother me so I just throw them into the bushes outside, but I know others dont do insects. I didnt feel secure staying there anymore, but I also wasnt willing to put in the effort of finding another hotel and doing the whole transfer thing under my circumstances. The second night there, someone walking by knocked on my window and kept walking and it really startled me considering everything that happened that morning. I slept with my gun next to me because of that. Not a cool feeling to have to feel like that in an establishment I rightfully paid for. Check out day I speak to the manager and told her I was entitled to a refund considering the amount of harrassing they did and the inconvenience it caused me. Her response, we dont give refunds for accidental knocking. Once again what I was feeling was dismissed and downplayed. Aside from that, the breakfast is not tasty, the entire establishment is really run down, ice machine had no ice and they say there's a second machine but unable to tell me where. I will never stay at a La Quinta again because they care more about making money than a...
Read moreMy daughter and I had a 5 night stay. We just needed a place to sleep and shower that was within our budget, we came prepared with nearly everything we needed. We enjoyed the sound of the aircraft, but others may not. The room and free breakfast was a bit spare, but it worked for what we needed. I feel like the price was a bit much for what we got and the room could have been cleaner. But the service was great.
[The Inn is within a short drive of several high-class restaurants and establishments, as well as two malls, and the Tampa airport. Even during high traffic times, it was easy to leave and return.
Check-in was immediate, though the computer was a bit slow. We were surprised by a $100 fee (refundable at check-out) which wasn't mentioned online. There was a sign explaining the Inn is undergoing renovation and a whiteboard listing local tourist events. We were given two key cards and a printed parking permit to put on our car dash.
When we opened the door to our room, we were greeted by the smell of bleach. Our initial impression of the room was that it was clean, if spare. There wasn't a closet or an iron or ironing board. Both double beds were neatly made. The comforters on the beds were on the thin side, so we ended up purchasing throw blankets. The A/C unit was kick-ass. The thermostat was brand new. We could feel the cold air all the way on the opposite side of the room. The bathroom was behind a sliding barn door. There were only two towels, even though we were reserved for 5 nights, so we went to the front desk to ask for more. The towels we were given were quite coarse. We were surprised to see Dove soap and shampoos as opposed to the usual generic type hotels soap/shampoos. The tub didn't have a plug for baths. The showerhead had some issues with hard water, so the spray was a bit anorexic, but the hot water was great and there's a great non-slip surface on the bottom of the tub. The toilet would run intermittently, but the flush was strong and fast and the toilet was new. The flooring in the room is vinyl and my tennis shoes kept feeling like they were sticking. When I took my shoes off and walked around in my socks, my socks ended up filthy, so the room wasn't as clean as we thought initially. The hours before and a little after noon, you'd hear the housekeeping carts rolling by, as well as a leaf blower that was used to clean off the walkways. Day and night, you could hear the planes taking off and landing, and there are also a lot of sirens at times from fire trucks and such, though I never saw a fire department. The beds were quite comfortable and the perfect size for one person.
The advertised free breakfast mainly consisted of shelf stable items and the usual breakfast beverages. The seating area is rather small, and there are signs prohibiting guests from taking food from the free breakfast to their rooms. Though there is a IHOP next door, we read the reviews for it and decided it was safer to stick with the free breakfast. The staff was constantly restocking the items and made sure there was plenty of coffee ready.
Part-way through our stay, the smoke detector started beeping. I notified the front desk and the maintenance personnel immediately came to solve the issue (turned out it only needed a new battery).
The microwave and mini fridge were the usual fair. The microwave was a bit loud during operation. The fridge froze our drinks on the shelf beneath the freezer section the first night. The TV was basic, spectrum cable, no Bluetooth for streaming. The wi-fi was good enough for playing an MMORPG on a laptop. The charging station on the desk did not work and there were only two other plugs...
Read moreI’ve called corporate to get some money back for the complaints listed below. On multiple occasions there was a staff member sleeping in the room I WAS PAYING FOR. All they offered me was 7,500 points which is less than a nights stay. Who would want to stay at this hotel again? It is literally infested with mold and insects and with staff members sleeping in a room I am paying for I am disgusted. My brother sat outside while this staff member took a nap! Hotel staff was beyond rude and unhelpful. My brother was told if he wanted his linens and blankets changed that he had to bring everything downstairs to the lobby himself to exchange for new ones. He wasn’t given a blanket for the second bed when he brought one down to be cleaned. His room hasn’t been cleaned once since his stay. Phones are either inoperative or the ringers don’t work and messages can’t be left. Hotel staff refused to leave a message for him when me or my mother called saying they had no staff to do so. Everytime we called we were either put on hold with elevator music playing continuously or the system would hang up the call. The first room 216 that he was in had massive stains on the floor, was unclean, smelled horrible with an inoperative refrigeration filled with mold. A crack pipe was found in the dresser as well as dirty clothing stuffed behind the dresser. The front desk person was rude and made the issue my brothers fault for the state of the room before reluctantly placing him in room 214. Room 214 had a fire alarm that beeped continuously because the battery needed to be changed. They refused to change said battery and yelled at my brother about bothering them with the complaint before finally removing the alarm battery. Other rooms were being cleaned and changed and cleaning staff flat out refused to clean my brothers room. They also wouldn’t take his dirty linens or give him new ones. He hasn’t had towels in days. The fridge in room 214 is filled with bugs and baby roaches. The room itself has a big infestation problem and it is disgusting. I found one of the hotel staff crashed and asleep in my brothers room on more than one occasion. How absolutely unprofessional and...
