The price charged for a small cup of soup is outrageously overpriced. The quality, freshness & portion size is sub-par... MY FAMILY HAS BEEN VERY DISAPPOINTED... 3 VISITS IN A ROW... SO WE TOOK A LONG BREAK .... RECENTLY, HUBBY & I STOPPED IN TO GIVE IT ANOTHER CHANCE... AND WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED....AGAIN!!😟
I really did not enjoy giving The Orient Cafe such a poor rating based on our last 4 visits here.
My family, friends & I have enjoyed many a fine meal, deliciously prepared from fresh ingredients & served by a very digilent gentleman, whom has been here... MANY, MANY YEARS!
This Locally owned/operated, small town, mom & pop establishment, The Orient Cafe, has been OUR favorite place to enjoy Chinese/Asian Food for over 30 years. In fact, our family would travel 40 miles from our old home town to a enjoy fine meal, almost weekly!
I hope my comments, will be considered by the staff, in effort to help restore thier "long standing quality reputation" !!
I would really like to bring my family back to enjoy our favorite meals, served by our favored waiter, at our families old favorite place.
My now grown daughters, loved coming here as very, very young girls to dine here.. (The 4th generation within our immediate family) and often said they looked forward someday to growning up and bringing thier own children here....
I had also hoped in the future, to include my young grandkids in our family tradition, as well.
I hope The Orient Cafe can make some positive changes... So our family can continue being the loyal, regulars we've been through 4 generations and keep our tradition alive!
Thank you for the many, many great years of fine service & tasty meals you have prepared & served our family ...
WE HAVEN'T COMPLETLY GIVEN UP...
Read moreDelicious food! We were skeptical to try it out because it looks pretty janky from the outside but glad that didn't prevent us from trying it out. The inside is very clean and comfortable and the service was good. Me and my fiance went there for lunch and he ordered the orange chicken and I ordered the general tso's chicken. The batter was fresh and crispy and most importantly the chicken was not dry! They serve the perfect amount of food so you can finish it all and be stuffed. We recently tried the Canton Wok in The Dalles and also enjoyed that place but we both agreed that overall the Orient Cafe tastes better. You will get a little more food at the canton wok but I felt their chicken was dry and the egg roll was way over cooked. I'm not an egg roll expert (I usually will choose a crab rangoon over an eggroll) but it seemed like the egg roll at canton wok was stuffed with stuffing (as in the stuff you have at thanksgiving) and seasoned with chicken flavored ramen noodle seasoning. The egg roll at orient cafe was filled with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection! Overall, don't let the outside look of Orient Cafe fool you and...
Read morePlease believe me when I say, this is the worst Chinese food I've ever ordered in my life. The shrimp fried rice had bean sprouts in it. So much, that it was crunchy and tasted like bean sprouts instead of shrimp fried rice. Shrimp egg foo yung was mushy. The gravy for it tasted more so fit for turkey and stuffing. Chicken with vegetables was all vegetables with a little chicken. I would have tolerated it, however there was no Asian taste to it. Sweet sour chicken was fried pieces of chicken bits. No flavor. Only flavor comes from the sauce. Spring rolls mushy and bland. Everything was bland. I ordered this food for pick up. Had I dined in, I would have refused the meal after a couple bites to taste. They make Panda Express gourmet in comparison to their restaurant. This meal is going into the trash. They don't even...
