My fiancé and I arrived at 3am for our two night stay. We booked a king suite with sofa bed and informed the staff we would be arriving very late (a 7+ hr Drive from MD). We were exhausted and ready for bed. We checked in, the gentlemen was very nice and accommodating, however when we went to the room we entered into a handicapped room with one double bed. The fridge wasn’t cold and the AC never turned below 70. We called the front desk and were told there’s nothing they can do, they are sold out and we would need to speak to the manager in the morning. So we slept, very uncomfortably and proceeded down to the front desk in the morning. The manager stated she could switch us into a king suite when one becomes available, I then asked if we could be compensated in some way since the room we PAID for was not the room we received. She stated she needs authorization from her GM and took my information down and they would contact me on Mon 7/8/19. I thanked her and we proceeded to our new room. This room also did not go below 70 but we at least had some room to sprawl out. We left the next day and the manager did make sure to tel me that the GM would call me Monday. On Fri 7/12/19 I still hadn’t heard anything so I called and was told their GM who was there when we were there had quit and they have another GM who’s managing two hotels and that she’s very good and I should be hearing from her. They almost hung up on me without further taking my information. If I don’t hear anything by Monday I’ll be contacting corporate.
As for the rest of the stay, the staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. The back patio views were very pretty. The breakfast was very subpar and very messy. I don’t entirely blame the staff for that though because a woman had her 4 kids running around playing with everything and making an ungodly amount of waffles and leaving a huge mess in their path.
I generally enjoy writing good reviews for places but unfortunately this Fairfield was the worst we stayed in. We overheard one of the staff say how the managers truly believe the guest is always right (in regards to the waffle making family), however I can’t say the same thing when I can’t even get...
Read moreThe young girl with glasses and long hair needs to be fired. 8:20 pm me and another guest were trying to purchase an item from the pantry and no one was at the desk. There was a sign that said we are servicing other guests will be with you momentarily. I was standing in front of the sign so the gentleman behind me didn’t notice it he stepped to the side yelled to the back for service no one replied. I mentioned to the gentleman they may have brought some thing to another guest room when suddenly the young lady worker walked in from outside And said “there’s a sign there for a reason folks so there’s no need to walk in the back ” in a nasty tone. I didn’t appreciate her tone her words and the fact she was including me when I was simply standing there so now she is accusing me of walking in the back. She checked me in 30 minutes prior so She knew I was alone and I was not with this gentleman. The man said something back to her and I said to her that she’s giving us terrible customer service I’m a customer service trainer and her tone in the words she used are absolutely inappropriate and not how things should be handled she gave us more mouth and I told her she just needed to stop she’s already done enough damage and as I walked away she was talking very loudly saying “ I can’t believe how people talk… and she kept going on and on loudly as if she was talking to somebody. So if somebody else was indeed working they should’ve been out there at the desk either way this girl is very young very immature and has no idea how to talk to people and she needs to be terminated because this is not the Fairfield standard. She has no clue what Customerservice is or she has received no training or simply doesn’t care. Or is it because it’s Night Shift you’re just gonna have to hire anybody to fill the spot because you’re desperate for people and tolerate terrible service to I am a pain cast my payment pays her paycheck I refuse to pay somebody to treat me this way and talk to me this way. I will never stay here again and I will tell all my friends and family I have family in the area and I’m visiting family...
Read moreMy fiance and I arrived the morning of our anniversary after a 13hr drive with cash in hand. We informed the front desk attendant that we would not be getting our paychecks until midnight the following day, that there was no money on the account, and that we were happy to pay for our room in advance. We planned to stay there for 4 nights, the attendant said that we would not have to pay for our stay until we checked out and to enjoy our anniversary, we double and triple checked to make sure there would be no complications; she assured us that everything would be fine. So we went out and celebrated our 6th year together spending all but a few dollars so we could eat the next day before our paycheck was deposited. The morning after we went down to breakfast, we were called out in front of all the other guests to come to the front desk by the same attendant that had checked us in. She demanded that we pay for our room because there was no money on our account, Which we had made perfectly clear the previous day that there wouldn't be, hence the reason we had offered to pay cash for our room when we checked in. We called her manager over to assist and we explained the situation. The manager asked the attendant if what we had stated was true, she lied to her managers face and denied that we had discussed our financial situation when we checked in. All the other guests ate their breakfast and watched us as if it were entertainment. It was the most embarrassing and shameful position to be in. The manager had no mercy and ejected us from the hotel out into the rain and cold like we were criminals. They also took the liberty of keeping the fan we had brought up with us to help us sleep. I don't think anybody deserves that type of treatment, especially as an employee of the Marriott chain. It was a complete disaster, especially since we were had no money to stay anywhere else until midnight. I am to embarrassed to ever show my face in that hotel again, and would not due to the treatment my fiance...
