Kilwins Ice Cream - Chocolate - Fudge — Restaurant in Town of Minoqua

My husband and I came in this past Saturday. It was our first time, and we were highly impressed. We were treated like loyalty, by the male owner there. He was beyond super friendly and so polite with us. We got fudge and a caramel apple. He went out of his way to explain to us how to store the fudge and how long its good on the counter. I haven't seen this amazing of customer service in years. He truly went above and beyond and out of his way to make us feel special. Beyond outstanding customer service. Thank you for making our day. He even saw my husband take a picture of me outside the store with the bear and ran outside to ask if we wanted a picture together for him to take of us. Really disappointed with Kilwins in Minocqua. We have ordered the same cake every single year and have had issues in the past with it not being ready on time. This year was the worst yet. We ordered over a week in advance and were told it would be ready today. When we arrived, they had already sold our cake to someone else and made us pay for a new one. We were told to come back four hours later to pick it up. When we finally got it, the writing was awful—one of the birthday names was barely even on the cake, shoved down at the bottom like an afterthought. Not to mention, after this ridiculous experience, the cake still cost us $65, and our poor Birthday girls name is nearly illegible. My friends and I spent the week up in Minocqua and on our way our of town stopped by Kilwins for some ice cream. It was one of the most amazing experiences I've had stopping at a shop in downtown! The owner RJ was so polite and kind and got to know each of us while we were in the shop. He was so personable and made us feel so known. One of my friends has a nut allergy and RJ made her feel so comfortable to try a free sample of fudge by explaining the sanity processes of the store. It meant a lot to her to have some one talk through that with her because most shops won't. RJ is definitely living out his calling by (as he said) getting to know people and making their day with his Kilwins store. He sure made our day!
