What a terrible experience! customer service was horrible! I called the day before and the day of to make sure my order was in. I was told that everything was in but my full size mattress and not to worry that they would work something out when I get there. When I got there I paid an additional $50 for a different mattess and according to them a better one. I get home and start setting up my sons bed to then realize that the twin mattress they gave me was the wrong mattress! I return to the store to be greeted by Joe the salesman that helped me when I placed my order. He was very unprofessional! He told me it wasn't his fault and that there was nothing he could. I return to the store for a second time now to get the correct mattress. I get home, take off the plastic and realize the mattress had a rip and is dirty(looks like I was given the floor model). we looked at the seal on the plastic cover and it clearly looked like the plastic had been resealed! I then return to the store for the third time requesting for a new mattress and a $50 refund for all the inconvenience. Well I was then told that I'm not getting anything back because then they would be taking a loss. A loss! really! what about all the time that I lost running back and forth because of their mistakes!! Then Joe proceds to tell me that he will give me the $50 but that his employee will get fired for giving me the wrong mattress. I couldn't believe a salesman would say that to a customer! Joe was the one who made a mistake! He ordered the wrong mattress, but took no responsibility instead he blamed his employee who was just doing his job by giving me the mattress that was on my order. Greg the manager apologized and said there was nothing else he could do. Sent for my mattress to be brought upstairs and walked away from me. This is how they treat unhappy customers due to their mistakes. I will never shop here again and will never recommend this...
Read moreThis place is very nice and expensive bc there is no competition elsewhere but in NYC and New Jersey! My experience was not great at all. A tall man with a mustache helped 1st. I didn’t like his demeanor so I left. I gave up and decided to go to New Jersey. My husband talked me into going back to Sleepworks and give it another try with a different salesman. So reluctantly I went and yes this time we delt with a different salesman (the owner’s brother) I thought great! Someone who will be nice! Yes he was nice, personable and funny too. So we bought a 6,500 Murphy Bed. The salesman informed us it would take 3 to 4 weeks to arrive. As the weeks pass us by, my husband decided to give Sleepworks a call and ask them the status of our Murphy Bed (wait for it) they tell him the bed is not going to be in until the END of AUGUST!!! WHAT?!? At that time I was having my family in from Texas. I was freaking. So my husband suggested we take the floor model and he (my husband) did not ask for any money off being it was a floor sample. It was clearly their fault because the salesman (owner’s brother) didn’t know it would take that long for that type of Murphy Bed. They gave us a very HARD time because they had to pay for it to be dismantled and it was going to cost them around 800 dollars to do it. So my husband suggested he would pay for half of the dismantling. So they (owner) agreed to it. Now, when it arrived it was loaded onto the bed of a pickup truck! It was not wrapped up in any way! The men who brought the Murphy Bed were great! They were nice courteous and careful not to damage the Murphy Bed. The men did an excellent job at putting our Murphy Bed together! They were excellent!!!! We will NOT be recommending this place to anyone else. The OWNER was very RUDE and told my husband if anything was wrong with the bed my husband would have to call the company where the Bed was made from. They are not helpful at all they just plain greedy...
Read moreWow - what a great store. I'm generally not the type to write reviews-but I had such a wonderful experience I felt it was worth sharing. The store is beautiful, so spending the 20 min or so that they recommend you lay on a mattress is peaceful in itself. This was my 3rd purchase from Sleepworks - wish I had more bedrooms! Actually, I wish more stores offered the buying experience they do. All the salespeople I have dealt with in the past were wonderful & knowledgeable. I dealt with Anthony (the owner) this time, who spent hours with me and took the time to explain the positives and negatives of all the different types of mattresses (wonder if he's looking for any sales help - I now have the knowledge!!) I was looking into the latex mattresses - and he convinced me it is the best type of mattress made (for many reasons). I was a little hesitant due to the price of latex over some of the others - but now that I've had it for a little over a month, I couldn't be more pleased. I haven't slept so sound in a long time. I had a "foam" one previously and would wake up hot or "sunk" in one spot. Now I pretty much sleep thru the nite, no hot spots. As for his pricing - it couldn't be beat. I came prepared with an idea of where his pricing should be, and he blew it away before I could even try my bargaining skills. I also purchased a bed frame from him. Again, his pricing beat out the ones I saw online (his quality is top notch - can't say the same for the ones I saw online). Lastly, his delivery time/service was awesome.
