I almost left as soon as I saw the back of this hotel. There were many questionable folks back here at the time of check-in. One car was propped up with a wheel missing. Folks were working on another vehicle next to my vehicle. Someone knocked on my door once but never opened the door since I could not see anyone. My kids were scared and told them to knock on the wall since the rooms were adjoining.
The room that my kids stayed in had a bath tub with the spout handle affixed such that you could not use the spout. Tried banging on it with no luck. The heating/cooling unit is so low that hardly any air flowed from the vent no matter if the knob was on low or high.
The room I stayed in wasn't any better. The cooling/heating unit can only cool efficiently. If I had it on heat, it would randomly start to emit a loud grinding sound. Couldn't ignore the sound if I tried. I tried adjusting the heat level and that will make the sound go away momentarily. The sound will come back maybe in 15 minutes maybe in 2 hours. Had to adjust the leat level knob for the sound to go away. Very random but never got a restful sleep because of it. I finally had to leave it on cool and that was with the weather outside in the 20/30s. The tub had lots of stain that could not be cleaned out. Makes you wonder how long it was allowed to sit in order for the stain to permanently affix into the tub and sides. Had to bleach everything including the bathroom floors on both rooms as it looked and feel as if it had a small layer of lard smeared on it. The carpets look clean and rather new. Never turned on the televisions to see if it worked fine.
I had booked for 3 nights but only stayed 2 nights. There was an issue with a card to the kid's room. It did not open the door. I went to the front office. There were 2 young teens that were loitering around the hotel front after 10pm. When I walked in, I can tell they were looking for trouble which I believe was because they were hoping to impress the pretty young lady at the front desk. The two teens laughed at me as I almost tripped over an art tripod mount that was behind me as I turned around. The only positive thing I came out of this whole stay was that young lady at the front desk. Believe her name was Shea. There was a mistake on my billing and she noticed it and corrected it. BTW, the card still never worked.
I am a Platinum member and only 2 stays away from Diamond but will never stay at this...
Read moreTHE SERVICE: Front staff was ridiculously rude! I genuinely do not understand why a business would want to put unfriendly staff as greeting their patrons. They don't answer phones most of the time and when they do it is rude and demanding you hold while being obviously irritated when all you want is to get another pillow. Breakfast was nice though. For a weekday stay it was biscuits, eggs, sausage, bacon, gravy, waffles, cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast, muffins, juice, and coffee. From what I saw, may have missed something. Breakfast staff was nice! Which was a relief. The lady we had checking out was nicer but still seemed super irritated with all of the guests. THE ROOM: basic hotel room. But the tub seemed very weak and I would give when I moved/turned around the shower! The toilet was not properly set and would move when sitting and standing, even for the kids! Maintenance needs to tend to the structure and functionality of the hotel better. MISC:There were also noisy neighbors and banging, almost like hammering on the walls near ours. When we went to breakfast there was beer bottles overloading and surrounding the trash can! Not a nice sight to pass with small children and people would smoke on the passage, so you'd have to walk through smoke to get to breakfast, your own room, or anywhere really. Again not pleasant with kids.
Maybe it's the town, normally I'd chalk it up to them having a bad day or something, but from the looks of other reviewers, that excuse is voided... I won't be stopping again on the way back...or ever. Please look elsewhere... Especially if you...
Read moreI received a call that my son had been rushed to the hospital in Tupelo as he was having severe kidney problems. We left Arkansas asap and arrived at the hospital at 10, had a 350 mile drive. Verified that he was going to be okay and left to go to our room at your hotel. We have stayed here before and had a great experience. Upon arrival at midnight or shortly after at the hotel after we realized that our card had been "jacked" when we stopped earlier for gas. We then left and after some moving some funds around at our bank came back and got our room key. The clerk at the desk upon realizing we were there for a hospital visit gave us a special rate! Very much appreciated! However, this is where the experience turned sour...we got to our room,exhau3from the day only to discover that it had not been cleaned the day before, really? It was trashed! Walked back the desk and she immediately gave us another room. This room had an awful odor and there was hair in the shower. We stayed because we were completely exhausted from the day. Got our 5 hours of sleep as headed back to the hospital at 7. May stay here again because 9f the kindness of the front desk clerk but I'm very disappointed in the quality of the rooms on this trip, very disappointed! Btw,son is much better and should make a...
