This is our current go-to choice in Ukiah. That being said, a lot of what makes this hotel decent is simply that it's pretty new. Everything still works, the carpets are in good shape, there's no real sign of wear and tear. But it has some annoyances that are going to get worse. For example, none of the rooms are level. This results in either the bathroom door and/or the shower doors sliding around. They switched to using pump soap/shampoo bottles bolted to the wall, but no one cleans the pumps between occupants - so they clog and get annoying to use. The walls are also really thin. So you can hear people talking next door, your upstairs neighbor moving around, and even people walking by in the hallway.
Other things. The bathroom door is awkwardly situated with respect to the room door. If you leave the bathroom door open too far you can't open the room door. But you have to leave the bathroom door open after a shower because there isn't a fan. They should probably have installed the doors to face the opposite direction. They switched to pump bottle soap and shampoo, which is fine, but they bolted the hand soap to a wall in a location that kids can't reach. So now short kids (and probably some short adults) can't wash their hands without help. There are so many switches in these rooms. It's really frustrating to figure out which ones control which lights or outlets. Someone involved in the design of this hotel was getting kickbacks from whoever made those switches. Heaven help you if you need room service. There don't appear to be enough employees to handle requests like extra towels in a timely manner. They will stock the room with 2 sets of towels no matter how many are on your reservation. Most of the hotels do this, not unique to this one. Ask for more towels when you check in if you need them. I wish they'd ask when you do check in, especially if it's obvious that there are more than two of you.
All of these are fairly (?) minor complaints, worst of which is probably the thin walls. The beds and pillows are comfortable and the free breakfast is actually pretty good. It's conveniently located and the employees we've met so far have been both competent and friendly. It'll be interesting to see how this place holds up over time, as it becomes more common to...
Read moreMade a pitstop for dinner and overnight stay in Ukiah and stayed at this Holiday Inn Express. Easy to find and conveniently located across the street from Costco and next to an open field. Something in the room malfunctioned and they moved us immediately to another room so I have no complaints staying here. Check-in was easy as I booked online and everything was ready upon arrival. The entry area is clean and airy with lots of working areas to plug into. They offer beverages in the lobby for everyone and it was well-stocked. There is also a small pool that didn’t seem heated but it was a warm sunny day so it didn’t matter. Depth of the pool is from 3-5 feet (so don’t dive!) and is good enough to get some exercise laps in. The room was clean with plenty of plugs (and usb plugs), compact functional furniture, microwave, mini fridge, safe and coffee maker. The bathrooms was also modern and clean that came with tiny little cute Dove soap bars! Most importantly I found the beds enjoyable and slept soundly!
Guests are provided with breakfast and presented in a manner that makes it safe as a buffet. The items in the bakery display box was wrapper in plastic wrap so people aren’t picking through it, the cinnamon rolls are covered until you grab one with the tongs, the scrambled eggs, sausages and potatoes are in hot pans but the covers have a clear see-through section so you can see what is being offered without needing to open and peek everything. If I’m driving thru again, I would stop here for an...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Holiday Inn Ukiah, and I must say it was an exceptionally positive experience. The first thing I noticed upon checking in was the cleanliness of the hotel. From the lobby to the hallways and into my room, everything was impeccably maintained. The housekeeping staff clearly takes pride in their work; surfaces were spotless, and the air had a fresh, inviting scent.
The room itself was a haven of tranquility. I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was during my stay. Even with the hotel being fully booked, I hardly heard any noise from other guests or outside traffic. This peaceful ambiance allowed me to truly relax and enjoy my time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Another highlight was the comfortable furnishings. The bed was plush and cozy, providing a perfect night’s sleep. The attention to detail in the room decor added a touch of elegance without compromising comfort.
The location of the hotel was also ideal. While it was conveniently situated near various attractions, the soundproofing features truly set it apart. After a day of exploring, it was delightful to return to such a serene environment.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for a clean and quiet hotel for your next getaway, I wholeheartedly recommend [Hotel Name]. The peaceful atmosphere and high standards of cleanliness make it a wonderful choice for anyone seeking relaxation and comfort. I can’t wait for...
