Discovered this place about a year ago on during a Costco visit to Ukiah, and we love coming back to this place! The staff are always extremely friendly, it's right next to some decent shopping before/after, and while it's not the absolute cheapest place to go to, it's nowhere near the most expensive burger I've had, and even better, it's actually worth every penny I've spent there!
The patties are more of a charbroiled style, so if you dig that, this place is heaven. Additionally, the buns are homemade, and are absolutely FABULOUS. Their buns put other restaurants that use pre-made buns to absolute shame. It's worth the drive up to Ukiah just for the buns themselves, that's how good they are.
The burgers are not some huge behemoth, but what's there is great, and you get a decent portion of sides when you order those too. If you're willing to split a large order of fries or tots, you can actually get away with under $20/person with 4 people.
It's bigger than a hole-in-the-wall type of place, but is not huge inside, so when it gets busy, it's a bit cramped, but definitely worth checking out at least once if you're in the area, and is miles better than a fast-food...
ย ย ย Read moreA perfect menu with the right amount of options. Just about something for everyone. I ordered the brown sugar bacon burger and garlic fries and it was delicious! They freshly make the buns themselves. The burger was cooked perfectly, still juicy, the bacon was very sweet and also cooked perfectly. (Soft, not a rock hard crunch) The pineapple chutney was an interesting idea, and it gave the burger a sweet tangy taste. Hands down the best burger I've ever had. The garlic were good, real chunks of garlic, not just a garlic powered poured over. The person I was with, ordered the grilled cheese and coleslaw, when she first pulled it appart the cheese stretched and stayed connected for about a foot! The coleslaw had a great first taste. But they do use celery seed, which leaves a weird after taste for me. But most people love celery seed, so that's just a me thing. They also have a draft root beer on tap! It had an amazing flavor. A little pricey, but worth it because it was fresh. When we were close to finishing the meal, the chef came out and asked us how it was. It felt personal. Over all, an amazing place and I will be...
ย ย ย Read moreStopped in for lunch after a long weekend at the lake. So pleased that we did!! Right from the moment we walked in, service was outstanding. We were greeted with a pleasant "hello and welcome" by a guy with a great smile. We were impressed with all the creative and tasty menu options. It was almost hard to decide on what we wanted, but settled for a couple double Dumpster burgers, tots, onion rings, coleslaw, and mozzarella sticks. It arrived quickly and smelled amazing! I was very pleased with the coleslaw, it wasn't limp, had a flavorful but light dressing, and the small was enough to share. The burgers were delicious too! The meat had flavor, was perfectly cooked, and tasty. Everything else was great too. The same guy who took the orders spent time going table to table asking customers how their meals were tasting, unlike other quick diners where you pay, get your food, eat and go. It was nice. Portions were big for the prices, and not at all short on taste. Looking forward to the next time we're up in the area so we can try out...
