Wow wow wow!! Okay so from my previous review it’s obvious I love this place. But my experience on mother’s day made me feel the need to rave again. The Melting Pot is by far one of the best restaurants in the KOP. Extremely accommodating to your needs/preferences both dietary and general, The staff is always extremely friendly and personable, the food and drinks are amazing, prompt service, everything you could want in a restaurant. Today we had John as our server and it was nothing short of an incredible experience. He catered to our needs, was super funny, and even gave us some great recommendations! I suggest you try his favorite fondue, the quattro formaggio, and see his incredible artwork that comes with it lol! I will definitely always request Josh as a server as I thoroughly enjoyed his service, and I suggest you do too! However if he is not available, Jaimie (not sure if i spelt that right), Dana, and Steve are great too! Shoutout to Dave and Danny, and the owner (who’s name I wasn’t able to get) for their hard work in maintaining the amazing service and ambiance of this place. I LOVE the melting pot and it will always be my first restaurant choice! Please try it if you are considering as I’m sure you will love it too!
I want to preface this by saying that I never write reviews this long, ever. But to me it’s worth the read. It shows why you should choose this place over any other one you may be considering. My boyfriend and I chose to celebrate valentine’s day early at the Melting Pot on Super Bowl sunday. This was his first time there but my third, so I was really excited to share the experience with him. After all, 4 course dining where you cook your own entrees tabletop is quite the experience right? For the sake of this review I want to be completely transparent and say that we did experience a hiccup while dining, where by our 2nd course we were feeling a bit rushed by a waiter. I asked to speak to a manager, with the expectation of only getting a new waiter like I had asked. Dave first assured me that my complaint was completely justified, and I have nothing to be sorry for as they would never want someone dining to feel rushed during their meal. He also got me a new server, Steve, who was nothing short of amazing. I was already completely satisfied just by the fact that I was just listened to, and understood, but then Dave chose to go above and beyond. Not only did he compensate well for the inconvenience, I got a certificate to come back from Danny, the other manager and his husband! So when reading this review, please do not think about the minor hiccup I experienced, but the amazing customer service I received after. Great customer service to me is if an establishment really cares about their customers. And The Melting Pot staff, especially Dave, Danny, and Steve really care!! Truthfully, only thing I can complain about from that night is the Eagles loss :( . But Dave and Danny did move our dessert to the bar so we could watch the last quarter of the game, which I thought was a really kind gesture :) ! Moral of the story, we had an amazing time and I am positive that if you visit this location, you...
Read moreGreat food with a spin. Everything to be cooked in a variety of ways (I opted for the broth and a new "mac n cheese" fondue). Clean restaurant and the waiter was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and I had the four course meal so there was a lot to sample. Starting with a traditional cheese fondue where vegies and bread were to be dipped and put on your plate to consume. Second was a salad, and the house salad is very good but don't miss their specialty salads, the gorgonzola is wonderful. Followed by the main course where you choose 4 proteins and a way to cook them through. Some vegies come with the dish (there was brocolli, mushrooms and potatoes) that should be put in first. I had pork, shrimp, chicken and beef with 8 different sauces to accompany. Followed by dessert of melted chocolate (I had the turtle that is lit afire in front of you) with accomapniment of rice crispy treats, brownies, marshmellows, strawberries, pineapple, waffles, pound cake, bananas and few other dip items. It's a bit of entertainment as the burner on the center of the table keeps things hot and as long as their is no double dipping is very sanitary. The Bee's Tea was a stand out tea with hunts of citrus and honey. The menu may seem like you're in for a lite meal but you will be full if not overly by the time you leave. Fun atmosphere and friendly towards a family but please, if you have kids that can not behave for the hour to two that the courses take consider not being the family that was next to me at a table. If you enjoy the show within thw halls of the hibachi houses this is a more do it yourself fun time but definitely entertainment on tap. It would be a great date place where the noise level allows good conversation without shouting (sans the family next to me with a shouting young girl, occational yelling boy with diaper on and slightly older boy who walked around playing with a blanket and making his sister yell some more!) and it's fun! Recommended for those adventurous enough to try fondue again and enjoy the good selection of wines and drinks. Please note it is family friendly and the price is normally over $100 for two, but we'll worth it if you enjoy the dining, which I...
Read moreI usually don’t leave bad reviews, especially for chain restaurants, but this was THE MOST expensive meal I’ve ever eaten, and it was below average! I don’t get the hype….. This isn’t against this specific restaurant, I think it’s just a personal preference on the kind of food and pricing in general for this chain.
We decided to try something new that was near our destination. Fondue sounded fun to the kids. While we didn’t quite know what to expect we tried to prepare ourselves with reviews and the website/menu.
I’m hoping this will help others who maybe don’t know what to expect. For our family of 4 it cost over $300 (we did not order extras). We ordered 2 kids meals and 2 adult meals. The 8 oz kids drinks will cost $10 alone. They also add a 20% gratuity in case you don’t know before hand.
The cheese is good, and it’s a fun experience, that’s where it ends. The meat comes all together, no care is taken to cut the meat into pieces or slices that are remotely even. The meat is not seasoned. They do provide an array of lackluster dipping sauces. It looks like it’s all just been hacked up and thrown on the plate in piles next to each other. The kids wouldn’t even eat the meat they were afraid they would get sick or not cook the meat right. I will agree, it was hard to gauge cooking time when there’s no clock or cooking thermometer and all the meat is random in size.
We figured the chocolate would save the meal, but it was just more overpriced thoughtless food. Mini rice crispy treats, marshmallows, waffles, and 2 pieces of pineapple and 2 slices strawberries.
What a true disappointment. Yes we should have read the menu/prices better, but I still expected an average tasting meal. If I could go back I would have read the menu and prices more carefully. I wish I could get back all the money I spent. We left sad and hungry on...
