I never write reviews but could not let this experience go unknown. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. My husband has been working in the area, and we are in the process of moving here. I decided to stay for the 3 weeks of his visit, to search for places and secure a job of my own. We informed the hotel that we have 2 service dogs. One of the service dogs is 6 months old, so she is in training. The service we received here goes beyond just bad, we experienced clear and blatant harassment. While searching for homes, I had to leave my 2 service dogs in a crate, in the room. They assured us ahead of time that as long as it did not exceed 2 hours, that would be perfectly fine. We kept our dogs close to us on walks. there were no accidents. Unfortunately, when 1 specific employee was on shift, 10 minutes after leaving, we received a call that the dogs were barking incessantly. I was confused the 1st time because I was quite literally gone for a few minutes when that call came in. They were not barking when I left, and there was no barking when I returned. Nonetheless, we took it into account. After leaving them for almost an hour and a half with no complaints, I was a little suspicious. 2 more times, when Arianna was on shift at the front desk, we received calls that the dogs were barking incessantly. Once again, we returned to silence from our room, and we had been gone for 10 minutes. After the 1st incident, I went down to the front to show them my paperwork, since she repeatedly accused us of lying about them being service dogs. They, of course, are not allowed to ask to see paperwork. The last time that we received this call, and once again were accused of lying, I went to the front, pretty heated. The day before this I was using their gym facilities and the floor was wet, there was no sign, and I fell off of a machine and got badly injured. For the entirety of our stay, we kept the dogs in the crate when maintenance came to the room. We left them in the crate when getting breakfast from the ballroom. I was informed by Arianna at the front desk that I was once again, lying. When I explained that one of the dogs is in training and a 6-month-old puppy, who is likely to bark occasionally, she accused me of lying again. This time she accused me of lying about my fall in the gym. When I asked to speak to the General Manager, I was essentially told no. Arianna's exact words were, "F*the ADA". I called IHG's customer service and filed an official complaint. It has been 24 hours, and I have still not been able to speak to the manager. During our entire stay, the hotel was under renovation. We stood in elevators dripping sewage water, Safety hazards on the first floor. We never requested housekeeping. when we needed new bedding or toiletries, I asked the front to have them delivered, and I cleaned the hotel room. When I called up to the front to request these items, Arianna answered and was condescending, and extremely rude. I have never had an experience with a hotel where I felt singled out and harassed for having a disability and needing service dogs. DO NOT GO HERE. The next morning, I took both dogs to the breakfast room. They were perfectly behaved. I was then told by the breakfast supervisor, that we were not allowed to take any food items up to our rooms. I had done this several times during our stay. When I pointed out the employee who told me this was acceptable, the supervisor accused me of lying. I have never been to a hotel that valued their employees more than the guests. Our total payment for our stay came out to $1,980. I feel sick that they received even a dollar of our money. I hope that anyone considering this hotel thinks twice before handing over their money. Not to mention, the internet was so slow that I had to use my personal hotspot in order to do Zoom meetings for...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel, and I have to say, it was a complete disaster. Major construction was ongoing, and I overheard lobby staff mentioning it would wrap up in two weeks, but it looks nowhere near complete. Our arrival experience was less than welcoming; we had to enter through the back, and the outside appeared dated and neglected. The area with tables and chairs was littered with trash, and the landscaping was overgrown. The patio was dirty, which didn’t inspire confidence, especially since you had to walk through that area to get to the indoor pool. Honestly, I didn’t even bother checking out the pool after seeing the state of things.
Once inside, it felt like a construction zone: ripped carpets, cardboard strewn everywhere, and an overall messy vibe. To check in, we had to take the elevator to the second floor, where we found the catering office. The lobby staff, however, were wonderful—friendly, accommodating, and genuinely caring. I would give them a 5-star review for their efforts.
Now, about the rooms: from the outside, they looked fantastic—modern, with nice beds, flat-screen TVs, a fridge, and a coffee maker. However, we were disappointed to find that there was no microwave, despite what was advertised online. The A/C worked well, but upon closer inspection, the updates seemed rushed. There were holes in the walls, unsecured mirrors, and crumbling drywall. The shower had chipped porcelain, and the paint job was incomplete on the ceilings. The bathrooms were nice, but the overall quality felt more like a 7/10.
They promised free breakfast and hors d'oeuvres due to the construction, but finding the location was a hassle. We were given a map to walk outside around the building, only to find the door locked when we arrived. Another guest had to let us in. While the food offered was decent and the area was updated, my experience with the food and beverage staff was a low point. A staff member argued with me about taking chicken wings to my room for my tired daughter, insisting we had to eat there because the food was "free." I found this unreasonable, especially given the construction inconveniences. It felt patronizing to be told how to enjoy something they were providing as a favor.
Overall, while my one-night stay was manageable, I wouldn’t spend $150 a night here again, especially with the ongoing chaos. If it weren’t for the positive staff in the lobby, my experience would have been even worse. If you’re considering this hotel, I'd recommend looking elsewhere until the construction...
Read moreTLDR: Yes, they're under heavy construction which is not advertised anywhere and inconvenient. However, I would try them one more time post-construction to see what I think. Staff was excellent!
Pros: Staff was kind and helpful Room was clean and modern, the shower had great water pressure As an added amenity due to construction, they were offering a happy hour and complimentary breakfast (I did not utilize this so I can't speak to the quality/value)
Cons: Construction to the majority of the hotel; including the pool - it made it confusing, hard to park with all the construction taking up space in the lot, and it would have been nice to have been warned ahead of time about this The elevator constantly smelled like weed There were men always blocking the one entry door, smoking and cursing and the only other door that looked available had another man sitting in front if it with plastic bags; unsure if he was homeless or just loitering for over an hour - traveling as a single female this was off-putting and did not make me feel safe; in addition to the doors being propped open so anyone could walk in at any time did not add to the feeling of safety. I'm not sure who they consulted to contruct things, but the rooms seem to be designed with tall people/giants in mind. I'm 5'3" and the peephole in the door was not something I could see through, even standing on my tiptoes. Additionally, the magnified mirror in the bathroom was installed so high (at least 6" taller than me) on the wall, so that it was useless. The deadbolt to my room would not engage unless I put all my weight up against the door and turned it as hard as I could. Between this and the peephole issue, and the lack of outdoor security, I did consider leaving and going elsewhere.
Overall, I would try this location one more time after construction is finished to see what it's like, but I wouldn't visit again while it's still under construction. I do appreciate how kind and professional the staff at the front desk was, and that eased a lot of my anxiety I...
