Horrible Customer Service, will never be back or recommend this place to anyone and the reasons are listed below!
"retired" military with 40+ yrs of service...NO discount.
Confirmed two sites together only to be separated. When I pointed at the paper and said "see it has been changed" she yelled "I can see that BUT I didn't do it!"
Customer service SUCKED! The lady was rude about EVERYTHING!
She asked my husband for his Good Sam card which the first one he gave her was expired, so I said I would go get my pocketbook to get my card, she snatched the paper and said "God lady, I can just look it up!" My husband then found his card and it “IS” current.
We went back after getting in our 50' sites because we had no where but on the grass to park because those trucks won't fit in 2' of left over site. A different lady rode back with my father and told him "get that truck off the grass!" He said "where would you like for me to park it?" She said "in front of the trailer" he said "well it will be sticking out in the road so what are people supposed to do when they try to come down it to get to their campers?" Her response "that's their problem". So she "allowed" him to park TWO rows over until we leave!
He also explained that if this place is full when we leave, it's too tight of a fit for him or us to get out.....the response...."Wiggle it out!" He also told her when we leave at 4am it will wake everyone up going in and out trying to "wiggle it out" and her response "your gonna wake everyone up anyways when you leave!"
I have NEVER had this bad of customer service!! If I think of anything else then I'll let you know.
I would NOT even give this place a 1 star but that's the only way I could post...
Read moreSpent 5 nights at Slerpy Hollow recently. All of the staff were very friendly, the grounds were tidy and well maintained. The bath house and laundry facilities were always found very clean, even in the evenings.
This location for our trip was perfect with an enterance to Badlands National Park just minutes south of town and access to freeway ramps either direction exiting the campground. Historic Wall Drug is just a short stroll away. Rapid City is about an hour away for any and all "big city" needs as well as access to everything else the Black Hills has to offer. We even made the 2.5 hour drive to Devils Tower.
The only things I could see as cons are: There are train tracks that run along the East side of the property and are active late night (10 pm-Midnight roughly, I never actually looked to see if it was consistent or random) for a few minutes and then are gone.
Sites are a bit on the tight side but noise from other campers was never an issue for us. We just travel with our kids and they can get a bit spread out and wander from time to time so having a little more space to designate as "theirs" is nice, but we got by.
Having the playground on-site was also very nice. I also saw there was access to the Wall public pool a few blocks away that has a larger playground if needed. We usually camp at State Parks in Minnesota which don't always have playgrounds. Having somewhere to send the kids within eyeshot while getting food ready or things cleaned around the camper is always appreciated.
None of these "cons" would prevent us from looking at staying here again. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Sleepy Hollow....
Read morePaid for eleven nights at this campground before leaving Michigan with our motorhome hauling a motorcycle. Before we arrived we lost the brakes on the motorhome and limped into Wall with about 20% of our brakes. Spent the next few days trying to find a garage that could work on it and a tow to the garage. When I finally had that arranged we went to the office and explained our situation and asked the owner if he would be willing to give us a partial refund. He basically said NO! Rules are rules. My wife said to him “but this was an unforeseen situation.” He said it’s unforeseen for him too. That’s when I should have told him I had yet to see him or any workers doing any cleanup or maintenance in the campground. The grass was long, trash papers everywhere and as far as enforcing his rules campers we’re letting their dogs do their thing everywhere and not cleaning it up. If your going to enforce one rule, enforce them all. If we are ever in the area again I will go to the boon-docking camping area high on the bluff just before the entrance to the Badlands National Park. Oh, another note. With 59 RV sites and many tent sites you would think there should be more than one urinal and one seat in the whole campground. I can’t speak for the ladies. Please do some research on the trap before making your...
