I have never been so irate with a hotel. I was charged for a cancelled reservation and the manager, Alaura was rude and unprofessional when I called to inquire about a refund. When I first called she answered by her first name, not as Days Inn. I asked if I had the correct phone number and she said yes. I stated that I was charged for a cancelled reservation. She said “tell you what, call back in a half hour”. Not a great start. When I called back she didn’t take any information or look up anything before saying that if I was charged it was because of the policy. She said that there are no hotels that let you cancel under 48 hours, which is just untrue as most major chains, including Wyndham, allow for cancellations up the check in, particularly under their military member program.
The Days Inn booking failed to disclose that cancellations made under 48 hours cannot be cancelled. The military member policy on the Wyndham app is free cancellation up to 24 hours. Wyndham customer service was a chat that disconnected followed by a series of unhelpful and incompetent call center employees. I will never again stay at a...
Read moreDecided to stay here because we are Wyndham Platinum Rewards members. Room was okay but in the morning we found no breakfast, not even a grab and go. Really? On top of that, this hotel doesn't have the security lock key pad on the outside doors. Anyone can just come in from outside. When I went to get breakfast in the morning, I found nothing there and no one at the front desk. The shade was pulled down. There was a number to call for service and no one answered. Unbelievable! Anyone could just come in from outside and loot the place. What if we needed something? I've never been in a hotel where there wasn't at least someone at the front desk. On a 2 week road trip around the western USA, this was the only hotel that didn't have some sort of breakfast and this was in a state that doesn't have the mask mandate so they couldn't use the Covid excuse! I didn't think to ask when I checked in because all the other hotels, had a breakfast. Too bad the Super 8 in town wasn't open, at least we know they served a breakfast. I expected more from a Wyndham hotel, that is why we usually go to one. This one was a real...
Read moreOh my gosh, you have an amazing employee in Melanie. My sister-in-law booked a room on Expedia in Hill City SD and got the confirmation email. Drove 14 hours with my daughter to find out the hotel never received their reservation and every hotel in the area was sold out. She drove to Rapid City, same thing sold out. At this point they were both exhausted, it was almost midnight, and were panicking that they wouldn’t find anywhere to stay. I actually called another hotel in Wall and got Melanie on the phone who said her hotel was also sold out, I don’t know why but I told her their story and she said I work at another hotel, the DAYS INN, and she offered to call there to see if they had rooms and she called me back to say yes! I’m really grateful that she went over and above especially in today’s world where customer service is non-existent. To top it off with a cherry, when my daughter and sister-in-law pulled up, Melanie CAME OUTSIDE to greet them. Who does that!?!? She is truly a gem and you are lucky to have her. As a mom I am so thankful to know my daughter is safe and has somewhere to sleep. Thank...
