Eva Baker Photography — Local services in Walnut Creek

We chose Eva to take newborn pictures of our first born child a few years ago. I was incredibly nervous as a first time mom and Eva was the first person outside direct family and medical care team members to hold my daughter. Eva was amazing! We drove from Palo Alto to Walnut Creek (because we heard such great things about Eva!) and with a newborn were running late. She had the studio all set up for us and ready to go. There were also snacks & coffee while she was capturing the best pictures of our girl. I was in girl mom heaven picking from backdrops, accessories and outfits for our daughter. Eva also took great family and individual pictures. We loved our experience so also booked a 6month and 12month shoot with her.

Fast forward a few years, we had newborn #2 and a toddler. Eva is not only the baby whisperer but can also get toddlers to participate in family photos! Our toddler daughter literally asks to go see Eva and get pictures taken every time she sees the pictures in our house. She actually demanded that a few of them go into her room!

Eva is a staple photographer for our children’s milestones and we will keep coming...

I first did my research and compared a lot of photographers, Eva by far had the most beautiful and professional looking photos. The lighting and the coloring is spot on and everything looks very aesthetic. I didn't look washed out in any of my photos and I feel like she really brought out all my features in a way that I wanted. Scheduling is simple and the back and forth conversation is pleasant. Although we live in San Francisco, we were happy to make the drive to Walnut Creek for her studio. Parking is easy which is very nice too.

For the actual photo session, it's immediately clear the level of expertise Eva has on how to place the fabrics that would look the best for my vision, along with using the light strategically to make everything come together. Eva also has lots of poses ready for the mamas, I came with a vision board already but she certainly added a few favorites to my collection.

When photos arrived to my inbox, I was pleasantly surprised to see so many photos!! She got my dream shots and these are the photos I'll keep for life.

Eva is simply awesome! It’s taken me a while to post this review (what can I say...I’m a first time mom with an infant), but the experience of having her as our maternity and newborn photographer was beyond amazing. First of all, she is most certainly a baby whisperer. She is also a true professional with a lot of experience and the quality of her work is impeccable. If/when we take family photos again, I will definitely go with her!

UPDATE: We took family photos with Eva back in February, and they again came out fabulous! Her ability to catch the right lighting, the candid moments, as well as beautifully staged moments, are just amazing. Can’t wait to do another photo...
