This is going to be a long review because it’s my last stay here.😥 The niece I - & other family members - have visited in Wareham multiple times over the last 2 years is moving to Michigan to be near us. This is my fond farewell to Marriott Bonvoy TowneSuites of Wareham -
THE ROOMS This hotel gets huge bonus points for having a full-size fridge, stove top, large microwave, dishwasher, a set of dishes, glassware, tableware & a good quality set of skillet & pots. The kitchen is very user-friendly, with dishtowels, pot holders, paper toweling & everything you need to wash dishes by hand or in the dishwasher. The rooms are very large with plenty of closet space. The beds are very comfortable; I never awaken with a backache like at some other hotels. The shower always has good water pressure. The rooms are always clean. [Sometimes a previous guest has done a poor job of washing their dishes/tableware; I’ve learn to check before using & don’t mind re-washing. It’s a small price to pay for the convenience of having a kitchen while out of town.] I’ve always had a room facing the cranberry bog, & it’s always been peaceful. (Sure, on the weekend you might hear a high-energy youngster walking down the hall, but it’s just momentary.) THE SERVICE From the Reception Desk Personnel to the staff in the breakfast area to the housekeepers, everyone is friendly & helpful. Cynthia at the Reception Desk is outstanding in every way; you can tell she loves her job. THE COFFEE (yes, it merits its own category) I don’t like drinking brown water. I want (& need) my coffee to taste & smell delicious. I’ve never had such full-bodied coffee in any other hotel or in 95+% of US restaurants. On my last trip to Wareham, I had to stay elsewhere because this hotel was full and I got permission from Cynthia to stop here on my way to the airport so I could get a good cup of coffee for the road. That’s customer service! THE BREAKFAST On the days I make it down to breakfast, it’s usually just before the end, so the eggs & meat may not be at their freshest - that’s on me! What I love is the variety: 2 types of eggs, breakfast meat (crispy bacon is my favorite), oatmeal with a variety of toppings, several bread products, waffles, pastries, whole fresh fruit, several yogurt flavors, white & chocolate milk & whatever I’m forgetting. THE OUTDOOR AREA I often have time to kill before heading to the airport, & during the warm weather months, it’s very pleasant sitting outside & soaking up some...
Read moreOur team stayed here for almost a month straight and we plan on coming back here. Overall, it was a nice experience. The weekday breakfast is good and the lady who prepares the food every morning is very kind and hospitable. The weekend lady is a little rough around the edges, but she means well. Presentation and quality is good. Most of the food comes from Sysco Foods and they're "prepared foods", so I am not expecting a cuisine every morning. There is always coffee available in the front lobby with assortments of creamers and real milk. They have tea and hot coco as well. The staff, overall is friendly and courteous. Mike overall, has been the best staff member during our stay. He is incredibly humble, and a breeze to talk to. He is very attentative. The rooms are very nice. The lighting is great throughout the hotel. The side entrance with the key access is laggy and takes about 5 seconds for it to recognize. It may not seem like a long time, but when you're stuck outside in the rain, it certainly is. The rooms are well kept and organized. Everything is clean and neat as it should be. I stayed on the first floor the first go-round and the room smelled terrible. After a day, I had to exchange rooms. The second room wasn't as pleasant either. The fridge was broken for a week straight. It froze everything in the fridge regardless of what setting you had it at. The food and drinks I bought where pretty much spoiled and had to be thrown out. The AC unit in the room broke the last few days I was there. It started making these extremely loud noises during start up and it would not stop. I had to turn it completely off. Eventually, the fridge was fixed, by them replacing the entire unit. Unfortunately, the hinge side was on the opposite side this time which was designed for a different room than mines. Meaning that when you opened the fridge you had little to no room to even open the door. I do love the Marriott Hotels, I cannot deny that. I have stayed at plenty around the East Coast for the past few years. I am not a Bonvoy Member either. We plan on coming back to this specific hotel and staying just as long as before. Hopefully, this time around we'll have a...
Read moreWe have stayed here every year since it opened. We are from the area and return every holiday season to spend it with our family and friends. We love that it’s dog friendly, with trails in the back along the stunning cranberry bogs. Jan works the dining area most of the time we are there and she’s just incredibly delightful. Friendly, always smiling, created her own nutritional guide book to all the food items, which has saved my gluten free vegetarian life on a number of occasions. The fire pit out back is a nice place to unwind in the evenings and the beds could use more pillows but are very comfortable. The suite setup makes it easy to make your own meals if you’re interested. In short, we’ve raves about this hotel for years until now. The cleaning crew seems to have gone rogue or just gone. We see them all the time but the rooms are filthy. Prior guests put dirty dishes away and the staff never checks them or they didn’t check the two rooms we stayed in as the the glasses were filled with days old mystery residue looking like dried chocolate smoothie mix and the plates with bubbles of grease. The room wreaked of vomit, white “stains” on the couches, hair lining the bathroom doors/walls. The solution to this by the evening front desk staff was to move us up 2 floors to a loud parking lot side of the hotel room at 11pm during a complete power outage. The next morning front desk staff moved us to a room that was equally filthy with chunks of dried white stuff all over the desk chair and couch and with feces still in the toilet. We provided them with a list of the issues in both rooms we were in, told it was going to the supervisor and we never ever heard from anyone again. Not even an apology, and then when we asked for a late check out to see our family for brunch, they denied us. Had no problem emailing us the full bill though. We are crushed as we absolutely adored this place but we will not be returning and are considering discontinuing our Bonvoy Elite membership with Marriott...
