Twice my wife and I have attempted to have lunch here over the past 2 1/2 weeks. The salmon twice was undercooked and raw on the first visit, along with a ice cold 1/2 pound hamburger on a frozen bun. The manager did comp us the meal, and was furious with the inept kitchen staff. On a return trip 2 weeks later, again for lunch....there was no hostess at the door for 3 minutes, the place was not crowded at 1:30 on a Friday. We were finally seated, and then sat for 10-12 minutes before a server happened to notice us and took our order. Again...a salmon fillet in a marinate and a burger with a salad. 10 minutes after taking our order, a half order of bread was brought for 2 people. My wife's salad was served and I inquired about my salad? The brainless waitress stated..."Oh you want it now?" After a few more minutes, the salad came, and my wife watched me eat mine. Again...the place was not crowded. At over 35 minutes into our ordering...we had to flag down the waitress to inquire about our meal. The waitress stated "Yeah, I was wondering myself...it will be right out." another eternity passed and finally the meal came out. Guess what? The chef forgot to season or marinate my wife's salmon, and my burger was ice cold to the touch on a ungrilled cold bun! The manager was sent over and attempted to kiss our behinds. No...I didn't want another meal, and although visibly upset, the young female manager had no idea what to offer us. She did confirm that the kitchens 20 pieces of salmon had not been marinated at all by the moron cook. I walked out disgusted, and my wife sheepishly waited another 15 minutes for another piece of fish. Of course, it came out like a piece of cat food covered with sauce. We did feed it to our cats at home they enjoyed it. We have eaten a many Longhorns in the area. It is not cheap, and was always good. But this series of events will lead me back to an old staple....Go to The 99 Restaurant or a local place you trust. These morons cannot be trusted until they smarten up and fire the lunch kitchen staff. Worst experience we ever had anywhere....
Read moreWe enjoy going to Longhorn except for today! Itâs Motherâs Day, and we expected it to be busy. We made reservations for 6. Last-minute family members decided to go, so now we have 10 people. We informed the host when we arrived. We waited a bit, we were seated at a table of 6 then was told the rest of the party can sit at a booth which was away from us. Standing there, I noticed a table of six and a booth right next to each other. Which would accommodate all of us. I asked if we can kindly be switched and sit together over there? Oh, was I wrong!! The manager, Amy, comes over and says no, this is where youâre going to sit and that booth over there. Those are your options! She continues to say thatâs two different sections with two different waitresses. OK, then weâll have two different waitresses, not a big deal. Still, the answer was NO!! Itâs unfortunate that a day of celebration with family had to turn into this back and forth with management. I simply was pointing out a solution so we all can be together. But Amy didnât want to hear it. Perhaps it was her EGO since she didnât come up with my idea. Instead, weâre just wasting time standing in the middle of the restaurant trying to figure it, when the answer was simply right in front of us!!! A family member wanted to speak to a different manager, but while all this is happening, Amy goes ahead and sits a family of 6 at the table that we wanted, almost like a F* Y. When I saw that, I was disappointed with her managerial decision making. We left since we werenât able to sit together as the opportunity was there to do so and she ignored the request. She definitely is teaching her co-workers wrong by example. 3 people in our party were first-timers and after this experience will be their last. We ended up going to Saga Fusion down the street and sat together like we wanted too. In the end, they got our business and it definitely was more enjoyable with the hibachi. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Thank you Amy!...

I went to LongHorn Steakhouse in Wareham, MA with my wife and kids for a nice dinner. I paid the full bill and left a $10 tip. Then a man â who said he was the owner â approached me and told me my tip was âtoo low,â because the staff âdonât get paidâ and âlive off tips.â
I told him politely: Iâm a customer. I came to eat. I paid for the food. I even left a tip. What your staff earns â thatâs your job, not mine. He replied: âIf you donât want to tip, donât eat out.â
Honestly? That was humiliating. Especially in front of my kids.
Let me say this clearly to anyone reading: Itâs NOT the customerâs job to make sure the staff get paid. Thatâs the ownerâs job. If he doesnât pay his workers enough, and people stop tipping, then those workers will leave. Then HEâLL have to cook the food, serve the customers, clean the floors, and run the business all by himself.
Thatâs how it works in the real world. If you donât take care of your team, they leave â and youâre left doing everything alone.
What really upsets me is this: The owner of this place probably lives way better than many of the customers. He owns the restaurant. He probably owns a house. Heâs got money in the bank. Heâs driving a luxury car. Meanwhile, many of us â the customers â are working 6 days a week just to survive. Some people come to eat here with the last $40 they have, just to give their kids a good night. And instead of being appreciated, theyâre made to feel guilty?
Tipping is optional, not mandatory. Donât let anyone pressure you or shame you into paying more than you can afford. A tip is a âthank you,â not a wage. The owner is the one who should be paying proper salaries â not asking us, the customers, to cover for him while he makes profit and lives comfortably.
