unfortunately i have had terrible service while eating at the bar. I came in today and sat at the bar which i usually dont and when i was approached i was asked if i wanted something to drink so i ordered a drink and a meal just to make it easier since i already knew what i wanted. now side note ive been in the area since may and become frequent here, maybe 2 to 3 times a week. Back to the main issue, after i ordered my food and drink i was given my receipt for my meal immediately before i even got my drink as if the lady didnt want my business and that was what i was only allowed to get. now the server i encountered with was a very older lady and the receipt i was given, states the name as PM Bar 1. but she was wearing a game jersey as well. this was my second encounter with her. her service was terrible, first time i encountered her, placed my order like usual, received my food and drink and that was it. never checked up on never asked if i wanted another drink, or even asked if my food came out correctly. then this evening, again horrible service. had to flag down another lady and this person just to get another drink. she obviously needs more training since she is well beyond seasoned to be working in a fast pace environment. or maybe relocate her to the front to where she can seat and great customer which seems more up her alley due to her age.
Now i would give a 5 start review to the lady at the bar with the tattoos because she is amazing at what she does. very attentive, very respectful and polite. knows how to multitask. SUGGEST SELLS extra drinks and isnt pushy with it, checks up regularly on me and makes sure my meal is worth it.
overall rather then make a scene at the bar, i personally a review is better for other people to see at this location. still overall a good place to eat, just cant stand these minor inconveniences with this lady. definitely not the service i expected to receive but hopefully this will help her get more training or put into a position where she can handle being...
Read moreIn economics, shrinkflation, also known as deflation or package downsizing, is the process by which companies shrink items or products in size or quantity, or even in addition, sometimes reformulating or reducing quality, while their prices remain the same or increase.
It seems that the 99 Restaurants have been afflicted with this recent ploy by business and industry to maintain profit margins by reducing the quantity or quality, or both, of their products to the buying public.
Case in point, on a recent visit to the 99 in Wareham, MA, I ordered fish and chips for dinner. In the past, this has been a generous portion of LIGHTLY BREADED fish on a bed of French fries and cole slaw - or two side orders of your choosing. On this occasion, I received two small pieces of HEAVILY BATTERED fish, but ordered mashed and kernel corn. Both of which were cool, not hot. After breaking away the heavy fried batter, there were two relatively small pieces of fish - hardly a "dinner sized" meal. In addition, as an added bonus, they have altered the size of the plates that the food is served on. They have made them smaller, and in the shape of a triangle, so the smaller portion can fill more of the plate, falsely presenting a VISUALLY substantial portion.
While the meal remains @ $13.99, in my opinion it is not a good value for the price - unless you happen to be a big fan of heavy battering on your fish. By contrast, the service was very good. The courtesy and attentiveness of the staff was excellent. We were seated in the time frame quoted. Except for the food disappointment, the restaurant performed admirably.
I will steer clear of the fish and chips in the future. I suggest you...
Read moreThe 99 Restaurant has always been a go to for great food, warm service, and unbeatable value but today they truly knocked it out of the park.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and family friendly. The colossal lobster roll was fresh and flavorful, packed with tender meat and served on a perfectly toasted bun. The Gold Fever Tenders were out of this world, sweet and tangy with just the right kick. Paired with crispy fries and a side of celery, it was the perfect comfort meal. The salads were fresh and generously portioned, not an afterthought but a real part of the meal.
But the real MVP was the kids meals. Already an incredible value with solid portions and options even picky eaters love like mac and cheese, fresh salad, and drinks included. It is the kind of meal that does not cut corners.
Then came the home run. Because the Red Sox had won the day before, our kid’s meal was absolutely free. What other place rewards families just for being fans. It is little things like this that make the 99 not just a restaurant but a place where memories are made without breaking the bank.
Parents take note. Great food, amazing prices, and perks that make you feel like part of the team. We love the Nines and after today we are even bigger...
