I came here on a Sunday to study in a new unique space. I was pleasantly surprised by the good atmosphere at first in the cafe. I ordered a latte and Krispy rice bar. I also asked the cashier if she happened to know the Wi-Fi password in which she replied sharply telling me it’s over there spelled out on the QR code. This was my first time here and I didn’t appreciate her tone.
I waited 30 minutes for my latte and asked a waiter that passed my table multiple times how long is the wait. She asked to see my receipt and if I actually ordered something. I replied how else would I have received a service number. She even admitted to seeing me waiting and never acknowledged me or checked in once. She apologized but began to lecture me on how waiting 30 minutes is too long. I replied I see the cafe was busy and I didn’t know how long the wait time is supposed to be thats why I asked. She promised to bring me another latte to make up for the wait but she never did.
This cafe needs to train their staff on proper time management and appropriate customer service and fair treatment to ALL paying customers. Very bad service, I’m disappointed in whoever is responsible for this cafe because it ruined my experience & prolonged my studying time at this...
Read moreLet's get one thing clear: you're paying for ambiance, not quality, when you come to this place, and even then some of the furniture is inexplicably uncomfortable (especially the cheap plastic high-top chairs). It uses an automatic espresso machine, a sign of low quality, yet its prices suggest it's using an artisanal hand-cranked machine and those wildly expensive coffee beans that pass through a jungle cat first. $4 for a single espresso, $6 for a double. Regular drip is $4 (they use Compass Coffee). Every other espresso drink starts at $6, including the cortado and macchiato (!), yet the menu bizarrely says every drink is 12 oz (the workers told me that just refers to the default cup size). I ordered a $7 drink, Ophelia's Bloom, which is espresso, pistachio milk, elderflower and lavender syrup, and it's fine but nothing special (too sweet). I suspect it's first on the menu because people will think it must be high quality compared to the crap that costs $6. I didn't order any food but it's comparably priced. Plus: lots of seating including couches and high-back chairs, open late. Minus: mediocre,...
Read moreHere's a review for my vegans out there!
Wherefore, o’er a brick wall have I climbed into this garden, to see if I can eat grass, or pick a sallet another while, which is not amiss to cool a man’s stomach this hot weather.
Entrees: The arugula salad has vegan feta, strawberries, candied pecans, and chopped asparagus; I added on the vegan lemony pea patty to my salad. The salad was divine, everything imperative in salad: crunchy elements, creamy, tart balanced with sweetness. It was full of flavor and such a chorus of harmonious parings.
Pastries: They have a vegan lemon poppyseed muffin that is delectable. It is sweet without being overpowering, moist and fluffy, and blessed with just the right amount of icing drizzle on top.
Coffee: They have oat, almond, and pistachio milk for lattes.
Seating: I came at lunch hour and seating was scarce. Hopefully they can add some outdoor patio seating as an auxiliary option. Took off a star for this, because at first I was eating at an uncomfortable sad bar with little ledge and it...
