Coast Village Inn and Cottages — Hotel in Wells

Front desk staff was EXCELLENT—friendly, accommodating, and they even helped me get back into my room when we locked our key inside.

Pool was closed in early June which stunk, but luckily Wells beach is extremely close (and dog friendly until mid-June). The grounds were very well kept: they had hammocks, fire pits, grills for use, and a spacious yard for my pup to run around in. There’s a little path to the left of the property with a waterfall that we would walk down in the morning—overall a great spot!

Our room left a lot to be desired... it was mostly clean, quiet and spacious. However, we found a very old cup-of-noodles in the microwave, the TV shut off when we used said microwave, our bedside lamp had no lightbulb, there was no trash receptacle, our tv remote only worked to change the channel and wasn’t programmed to turn the tv itself on/off, the furniture was outdated/mismatched, and no one came to make our bed after we had requested housekeeping (honestly we wouldn’t have cared about this if we hadn’t gone to the beach, and gotten sand in the bed 🤣).

Regardless, we did really enjoy our time here and didn’t expect anything fancy.

If you didn’t already infer this—it’s dog friendly! And not in the way that a lot of nearby places are. For example, other m/hotels had size restrictions, and unfair policies, but not here. We felt our dog was totally welcomed.

RUN AWAY!!!! ABSOLUTE FILTHY DUMP We were in cabin 3 for 3 nights. The owner lied to me over the phone! False advertising and pictures aren’t accurate! If I don’t get a refund I am going to call the Better Business Bureau. Issues: •AC didn’t work well •No WiFi connection which I asked about when I called •NO HOT WATER IN SHOWER OR KITCHEN - the owner told us we had to leave all faucets and shower running for 15 minutes in order to get hot water! HELLO CLIMATE CHANGE •Furniture was filthy and tattered •Hole in bedroom floor to outside •Lamp shade and screens busted .No ice cube trays •Ice machine didn’t work •Black mold in bathroom •The bushes weren’t trimmed so scratched car when trying to drive to the cabin •Sheets were too small and kept coming off •No drinking glasses .There are weeds everywhere •Racist remarks •Kept telling us the tip the maids

The whole experience was terrible! The owner is incredibly entitled and it is clear it’s about making money without maintaining the property. She clearly is aware of the lack of hot water and no WiFi but doesn’t mention it even when asked. She is a scammer and should be reported to...

I stayed here for 1 night and loved it. The staff, especially Damika (Hopefully I didn't misspell her name) was really nice and accommodating! The room was very clean and had everything I needed. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The only thing I found that needs attention was the shower because when I used it there was not a lot of water pressure as most of the water was coming out of the faucet and not the shower head but I managed. There was coffee but no tea bag so it was a good thing I brought my own The air conditioning worked great. It was a plus that a microwave and refrigerator was supplied as I had to use both of them. Plenty of plugs were available to charge my devices and the free wifi worked great It was also very quiet here! I also would like to suggest the Maine Diner which is located about 3 miles away which I think is owned by the same family that owns the hotel.
