While the room was clean and breakfast was solid, serious service failures made this our worst Marriott stay of the year. I will continue staying with Marriott, but not here.||As a Marriott Gold member with 25 nights already this year, I expect a consistent level of service. Sadly, this stay was the most disappointing so far, and it was my second visit to this property.||The room was clean, breakfast was good, and the hot tub was excellent — very hot with strong jets, exactly what we needed after skiing. Those were the bright spots.||Unfortunately, the negatives overshadowed everything else. The hotel was packed with sports teams from the nearby ballfields, and kids were running through the halls at all hours. The bed in our room sagged badly on one side, making it impossible to sleep comfortably. After using the heavily chlorinated hot tub, I went to shower and found there was no body wash, only two shampoos and a conditioner. These details matter when a brand like Marriott is supposed to offer a reliable, quality experience.||The worst part of the stay was the way we were treated by staff. While quietly sitting in the hot tub, my wife and I were approached by a young woman who said she was hotel security and banquet staff. She immediately accused us of jumping the fence to use the facilities. I showed her my room key right away, but instead of apologizing for the false accusation, she kept pressing us for information and even offered a discount if we would "help" by naming who had actually jumped the fence. My wife noted it was a man, and the employee snapped that they already had footage. We pointed out a loud group of drinking adults, where it was clear the real fence-jumper was a parent of one of the youth teams staying at the hotel.||Even worse, we overheard the same employee speaking with that group, and she was far more polite and accommodating to them than she had been to us. It felt disrespectful and unprofessional.||I grew up in Wenatchee, and I understand that things can sometimes be handled differently here than in a big city. That said, Marriott is a global brand, and with that brand comes a promise of professionalism and consistency. I did not experience that here.||I will continue to stay with Marriott, but I will not return to...
Read moreThis hotel was amazing and the location was gorgeous. I was eligible for an upgrade based on my status and so this review is based on that room.
Our room had a small balcony, large kitchen, and spacious bathroom, closet, bedroom and living room. It also came with an amazing view of the Columbia River.
The lady at the front desk who checked me in was extremely polite and helpful. She was new but her supervisor was there and he was extremely polite as well. Her husband is military and when she found out I was too, she was very empathetic towards our situation and pending PCS. I wish all hotels had people like her working the desk and handing out information on local dining and attractions.
They had a great heated indoor pool and a hot tub (but it was outside). The hotel was also right next door to great walking trails and a huge playground which my kids greatly enjoyed.
The only real frustration was the $10 credit which wasn’t really a credit. It had so many restrictions I ended up going with the bonus Marriott points. You can’t buy multiple items and the total for your item has to be less than $10. So you don’t truly get a credit, it’s more like a one item for free that’s $10 or less. Kinda silly in my book so I took the points.
I didn’t get a chance to check out the bar but it was usually busy and looked good. The free breakfast was really nice and had plenty of your normal offerings to choose from.
They also have a late checkout of noon which gave us plenty of time to sleep in and still let the kids play in the pool before we left. I wish we had more days to stay here because it was fantastic. I can’t speak for the standard room, but if you get a chance to upgrade or purchase the King suite, I highly recommend it.
I also recommend this if you’re looking to go to Leavenworth. This is about 15 min away and 1/3 of the price. Leavenworth hotels are way too expensive for lesser quality. Stay here and drive to Leavenworth if that’s what you’re looking to do.
We have to make one more trip through here before we PCS and I’ve already booked our...
