Royal Inn — Hotel in West Columbia

Okay.... I don't want to be mean or rude - (lol) but whoever posted the photo for this place is really funny. I was looking online at some places to stay while traveling, as I am recording a new album. I immediately saw this one and almost fell in love until I took a closer look! The photos are nothing compared to the place - but you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, right? The rates are affordable and I'm sure that maybe one day when I'm looking for something on the less expensive side, this may be where I have to go! I love hotels! I plan to own a franchise of them one day, so hopefully one day I can come in and meet the staff! Because that's what TRULY makes the Hotels anyway!...

If I could give this place a 0 star I would. First of all the woman at the front desk acted like me and my husband were aliens, she was extremely rude and very nasty to us and refused to take our money or let us stay there even when a guy that was already staying there tried to get her to let us stay and the reason why ? Because we are an interracial couple That was the worst exprenice that I ever had . We lost our home after our moms passed away and didn't have anywhere to go and that was about 2 years ago. The reception attendant was behind glass the entire time. I had to yell through the slot that you pass things through. I went there in the morning, afternoon and evening and the door to the lobby was never unlocked. The facility and room were gross. Old, dirty. The pillows looked like they were a decade old. I didn't want to touch anything. If it wasn't the middle of the night and we hadn't driven 10 hrs already I wouldn't have stayed. We discussed sleeping in the car but we had already paid.
