I did inform management that I would be leaving this review, and they were totally fine with it. so here goes:
This will be the 3rd time we have used this motel. The first time was during their remodel, years ago, the second was 3 years later and then the last being last week.
The First Stay, the rooms smelled like smoke. we did complain and got a new room, which smelled fresh... for about two hours, before the freshener wore off and then it smelled like smoke again... I get it long term construction workers that stay for long projects usually are smokers... but... it is a smoke free "hotel".
The second stay, we had the same issue, smoke in the room... same fix... new room with a little bit of freshner that wore off... Beds were clean and staff was pleasant to deal with. Signs of wear and tear were starting to be visible.
The last time we stayed in the motel, the rooms smelled so bad that my wife ran out gagging of all the smoke stench... but this time this was the only room available.. so some freshener later, we said ok... it is what it is...
About 11:30pm that night we finally wanted to crash from our flight in and we pulled the covers on the bed... (My wife and I both have short military cut hairstyles... for background) What we found not only horrified us, but it physically made my wife sick.
After pulling back the FIRST layer, we found long curly black hair on the brown blanket... ok, not problem, it probably got stuck on in the dryer or washer. We peeled back the blanket and found more... and peeling back the sheet, there were three different types of hair, ranging from long dark brown curly hair to coarse black hair and short pubic hair.... This was not the worst part, but by this time I was livid. The worst part came when we ripped the sheets off and removed the fitted sheet, to expose the mattress protector. It had dead roaches on it, varieties of hair and dirt on it... HOW DO YOU MISS THIS when cleaning up????
I marched off to the front office and the night clerk, simply apologized and sounded very sincere and sympathetic to this. Ran off to the laundry room to get a new set of pillows, sheets etc. The next morning we could no longer handle the smell in the room anymore and asked for a new room. We received a new room right behind the office and next to the office back door. (room 203)
so here is where this adventure starts... The room has a slight smell of smoke, but was tolerable (see the pattern here? this is NOT a smoke free hotel as advertised) We stayed in this room for about 2 days before the roaches started literally coming out of the walls and from under the baseboards. I get it, this is Florida, and have an exterior door, so something is bound to come crawling under the door, I wish this was the case. We traced the source of the roaches (I am not squeamish to roaches, we live in Florida, so we know they are a part of life... to an extent.)The source of the roaches was the "wet wall" in the bathroom. under the bathroom sink, there is a massive hole in the wall where the roaches keep coming out of the wall... which means the source of the roaches was NOT natural or environmental... it is entirely due to a lack of pest control. other than that, this place is what you would expect... a cheap motel with a kitchenette.
So in summary... will I stay here again? NOPE, third time's the charm, we have finally learned our lesson. (I believe in the giving folks another chance) For $10 more, stay in a hotel that is CLEAN, where the rooms are in fact smoke free.
Don't get me wrong, this motel is definitely a cheap traveling construction worker's paradise, but if you do not smoke and want a clean bed... skip this place and look elsewhere.

Read moreI checked in for my stay from 5/16-5/19 for a conference. Check in was lengthy from the start, there was no attendant at the front desk when I arrived at 2:42pm. There was another client ahead of me waiting much longer, ringing the bell walking in and out looking for an attendant until one final showed up at 2:50pm. I was attended to, checked in and was given room 275. I got into my room and left for my conference since I was late, not able to examine the room correctly. I arrived back to my room to find that the AC was not working, and the toilet seat was not attached to the toilet, which I decided to bring up with management the next day. It was 7:45am and I was woken up by an attendant trying to enter my room. Luckily the security bar kept them from opening the door all the way, and avoided embarrassment since I was not dressed at the time. Dazed, alarmed and confused, I put on a towel and stepped outside to see what was happening and I was told by the attendant that the person who check me in did not do it correctly and that my room showed vacant. I took a quick shower and headed to the front office to get this matter resolved and advise them of the broken AC and was assured that maintenance will head up to my room and fix it. I left for the conference again and the day passed by and I was not updated by the hotel and I decided to call to follow up, just to be told they were not able to fix it and that I had to come in to be booked for a new room. I left the conference early to get my room, but saw 3 other tenants ahead of me and only one representative helping. After 30 minutes, I was finally attended to by the same person who tried to enter my room in the morning. I gave all my information again since he was not able to find me in the system, until he found my reservation and started to look for a room and handed me the card key. I walked out to the room to find that the key wasn’t working after several attempts, I walked back to the office and had the attendant go to the room with me to see what was wrong, after serval attempts he finally knocked and to come to our surprise, there was someone already in the room. He apologized and headed back to the office to locate another room. He handed me the key card I headed to the now third room 306 I believe. I entered to the room, was hit in the face by the stench of mildew. I proceed to try and turn on the light to find that the switches are not working, please see the video attached. I then walked to the AC until to see and dirty, moldy mess, see video and picture attached. With all my patience spent, I marched back to the office, and walked up to the employee, showed him the videos and requested to cancel my reservation and refund my money. Explained that my experience since that morning was abysmal and was worse as the day continued, and that I would like to talk to the manager. He explained the manager would not be in until later that night around 9pm or in the morning. Before he made the refund request on his end, he tried one more time to get me to go to another room which I declined, I passionately explained I did not feel safe at that establishment and would not feel comfortable staying there anymore, which he proceeded to issue the refund and explain that it would take 5 business days for it to go through. That was on Friday 5/17 and on the fifth day, 5/23, there was no refund, I called the office just to be hung up three times and realized I was not going to get my refund after such a horrible experience. I have contacted my bank to dispute the charges and awaiting a resolution. Please I urge anyone reading this review, please save your money, save yourself the hassle and save your health. Do not go here, use one of the many more establishments around and keep...
Read moreThe staff here is really amazing. They go way above and beyond to make sure their customers feel comfortable and are happy. The staff is super friendly always greet you with a smile and hello. They acknowledge you and ask is there anything they can do to help. Me , my husband and our two year old daughter are staying here and we love it. The rooms are clean, the beds and pillows are very comfy. On our first night at check Anthony greeted us at the office. I made our reservation over the phone for Two bedroom with the reservations department. When we got there there was no two bedrooms available. Me and my husband was understanding because sometimes reservation reps don’t know all the time. Anthony was awesome and he apologized for the error with reservations that gave us a discount on a one bedroom. Anthony went above and beyond to find us the perfect one bedroom where the Air Condition works and the tv works. Plus he let us bring the pillows from the previous room to make us feel comfortable with a blanket for our daughter. He told me to speak with Crystal the next day to be moved into a two bedroom. Went the next day there was still no two bedrooms available. We were fine with that because they have Queen size beds in the rooms. So we had plenty room to sleep. We paid for an extended stay and when a two bedroom became available Crystal moved us and gave us a discount because of the booking error which was so nice of her. The Ladies in the office are so sweet Crystal and Tanisha, Tanisha went to check the rooms to make sure it was clean and ready for us. Plus they gave me a basket to transfer our bags to the new room. The maintenance work Robens was so sweet he helped me with carrying our bags because I had my daughter and watching a two year old and carrying luggage is hard. Roben’s was really a huge help. He didn’t have to help me and did I really appreciate it. The other maintenance worker Merlin was nice as well greeted me with a smile and a hello. I asked for towels and he got them for me. When we got to our new two bedroom yesterday the cable didn’t work. Maurico the other maintenance worker came right away and fixed the cable. The room is perfect we are very happy. I really recommend everyone stay at Studio 6 The staff are very accommodating they work really well together and they’re fast they’re hard-working people they’re super friendly they really make you feel welcomed here. Me and my husband and our two year old daughter will stay...
