Kinanm’s CapHaitien Cuisine tantalizes your palette with authentic homemade flavors of Haiti 🇭🇹in a cozy Haitian Artistic atmosphere. In the middle of West Palm Beach just minutes from Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) on Military Trail. I enjoyed this cozy Family owned and operated Haitian Restaurant as I waited for my dinner takeout order which was much larger than what you see on my dinner plate. I even got a brief lesson in Haitian Kreol from one of the owners on everyday sayings which I promised to practice daily so when I go back I can feel accomplished to order another delicious authentic Haitian meal in Kreol. I even had leftovers for the next day dinner. #AhMazingHaitianMeal #AuthenticFlavors #ILoveHaitianCuisine #Delicious See 2nd photo.
Ajibike loves diversity so I created a Combo Meal of a little of each: Stew Lambi (Conch) in a Tomato Base Sauce White Rice and Black Mushroom Rice Codfish & Smoke Herring Fritters with Spicy Picklees on the side (shredded carrots, cabbage, onions with scotch bonnet peppers immersed in a vinaigrette sauce) Fried green plantain (called Tostones by the Spanish community) Lalo (a Dark Green Large leaf vegetable from the spinach family sauteed with Haitian seasonings/Other Caribbean Islands calls this vegetable Callalou); Elbow Macaroni Salad tossed with mixed VEGIES and light olive...
Read moreSometimes when writing a review for a restaurant I struggle to come up with the words to describe my experience. There is, however, one thought that came to mind while eating, and that was home. Now I am not Haitian, but I grew up with a mother who made the richest and most delicious comfort food a growing boy could ask for. From the moment I ordered and was offered a sample of their Sunday soup while we waited for our food, I felt like I was back at home and my mom was making sure I ate enough for my growing bones. The space was small, but the best places always are. My wife and I ordered two Sunday specials, and were served quickly, and soon on our way home fighting all the urges to tear open our food. When we got home the food was still hot and we quickly tore into the bag. The chicken was perfectly tender, and absolutely packed full of flavor, exactly how mom made her food. The peas poured over the rice was absolutely spectacular and in between chewing and breathing I mumbled a few "OMG's" to my wife as she nodded back in agreement. The beet salad was colorful, smooth, and tender and was consumed very quickly lol I was hungry! I know I said I struggled with words to describe my experience at Kinanm, but as memories of mom's home cooking flooded into my head, I knew exactly what to say. My hats off to you Kinanm, I...
Read moreWhenever I travel to South Florida, i make it part of my culinary itinerary to stop and load up on Haitian food both for me and my mother. To say the least, my mother is very picky on what she eats that doesn't come from her kitchen ( if you are Haitian, you know what i mean). Her favorite meal choice is the Whole Red Snapper (fried). She's thrilled that the seasoning is rich in flavor and consistent. in deliciousness. "Woy, pwason an bon, li gen bon epis ak piman" is the same comment she makes every time i bring her fish form Kiann'm. In fact i am not allowed to return home without bringing her "Pwason fri" from Kiann'm. As for me, my taste varies based on the time of day: i have had breakfast: mayi moulin ak zaboka; Lunch: bouillon tet kabrit; sunday dinner: Poul di, sos pwa kongo and di ri blan. I have never been disappointed. The service is prompt, the hostess/chef (Flore) is friendly and very charismatic, something often left to be desired at standard Haitian restaurant. Come to think of it, nothing is "standard" at Kinan'm. There's a very home and intimate feel to the vibe at the restaurant. It's super clean with a colorful and artsy décor. If you havent experienced Kinan'm, you owe it to your tastebuds to treat them to this gastronomic adventure. Go ahead and you ll soon be writting your own 5-star review....
