I do not typically leave reviews ESPECIALLY of this length. Upfront, every staff member I came into contact with was super friendly and accommodating. At the time I stayed, the hotel seemed understaffed. When we walked in we were greeted very kindly, but told that we possibly would not have a room because two ladies in housekeeping had quit that day and they were really busy over the weekend. However, we did have success getting a room in a short amount of time. The stars DO NOT represent my experience with hotel staff.
GLOWS- The patio is LOVELY, I used it in the morning for coffee and in the evening for work and wanted to fire up the gas fireplace even though it was the middle of summer! There is a "home cooked" feel for breakfast with a variety of options for those with dietary restrictions and allergies. Robin was in charge of the eating area most of the week. She was hardworking, accommodating and delightful. There was comfortable bedding and our room had great views. I appreciated the shade's unique ability to offer both light and privacy at the same time. I loved the modern design in the lobby and the decorations and colors in the room. The room was very spacious. There was a fresh smell as you entered the hotel , much like hotels in Vegas. The lime-infused water was a refreshing nice touch. The exercise room was clean and had everything necessary for a well-rounded workout. The location is great and there is a jogging/walking/biking path nearby to easily access restaurants and shopping. Again, staff was very kind.
GROWS- There were many things that didn't make sense from a design point, (which is not my background). First, although lovely, the sliding frosted glass doors on the bathroom are silly. If you used it at night, the entire room was illuminated from turning on the interior light which disrupts others as they sleep. Ice machines are only located on even floors and more importantly, I don't understand why ice isn't offered in the breakfast area. Robin was forced to leave her post multiple times to fill people's water bottles-- each time, she did it with a smile. She absolutely could have directed them to an ice machine, but that would have only caused frustration for the inconvenience. In my room, previous guests left a mess on the wall behind the bathroom trashcan. I called 3 times to report this over the course of the week. The first time, housekeeping came as I was leaving and had missed the area when I returned, perhaps I was unclear. The second time no one came. The third time, a friendly man (possibly a manager) came and took care of it. The elevator doors and buttons did not appear to be cleaned the entire week. Our beds were not made on the 4th day.
More staff and the manpower to pay attention to detail would definitely outweigh the...
Read moreWe traveled 10 hours (with three kids under age 8) to get to this hotel. We had cash in hand, and called beforehand to see if we would be able to pay cash for our 5 night stay. We were assured by a male clerk that it was acceptable as long as there was card information on file for the damage deposit of $150. My husband went to check-in at 4:00 PM on 11/21, and was advised by a male clerk that they weren't authorized to accept cash at check-in without manager approval, despite what we had just been assured by him over the phone. We were advised the card would just need to have enough on it for the damage deposit, not the entire stay. However, after running our card the male clerk said that their system, "wasn't registering our card as a card". My husband suggested that it wasn't registering as there was only enough on the card for the deposit, and not the whole stay as the rest we had in cash. He insisted that, "the amount in the account doesn't matter, it just puts a hold on it". He called over a female clerk who also couldn't figure it out. They then charged for one night as a test, which obviously worked. We were advised we could bring an alternate card the next day if we wanted, or could pay the rest in cash at check-out. The next day we went about our activities, and returned to the hotel around 9:00 PM. The same male clerk was there and greeted us as we entered. We went up to our room, and the key card no longer worked. We went back to the front desk to speak with a different female clerk, who said they needed information for a different card or the cash in full in order to access the room again. We stated we were advised the previous day that cash was not accepted until check-out. She stated they had spoken with their manager and had gotten approval, (but couldn't be bothered to call to let us know that in the 12 hours we were gone, or when we were greeted upon entrance that evening). I let them know how frustrating it is to get 3 different stories from 3 different people, how cash is not accepted at 4:00 in the afternoon but can magically be accepted at 9:00 in the evening. I also told them that you can't "put a hold" on money that doesn't exist in an account, since that's something they struggled with comprehending at check-in. I also expressed that it's frustrating that they need manager approval to accommodate part of the check-in process but don't have a manager on-site after check-in time starts. She stated she was, "sorry I was upset". We changed our hotel reservation to this hotel at the last minute because we had a good experience here previously, but I'm not so sure we'll be making the same choice next time since there seems to be a lack of job-related knowledge at...
Read moreI wanted to give a shout out to Josh. He helped us check in and was extremely thorough, friendly and upbeat. Later, my daughter and I were getting some hot tea in the lobby, and he went out of his way to provide piping hot water. He was also on the ball with towels at the pool. We asked for extra shampoo and it was brought to our room within minutes. That evening, we were trying to sleep, and there was a party across the hall full of screaming people. I called the front desk, and luckily Josh answered. He profusely apologized for the noise and sent someone up ASAP to shut down the noise. The party stopped, and I was able to sleep.
The hotel itself is nice, great location, and clean. Our room was on the top floor with king bed, and it was huge with a mini fridge and microwave. We watched Netflix on the big screen TV through our phone.
In addition, it’s great to have a hot breakfast again since most hotels have shut a free breakfast buffet down due to covid. Hyatt had fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, French toast sticks, Starbucks coffee, yogurt, pastries, etc. It’s not gourmet, but free and a nice start to your morning. We enjoyed our brunch on the patio and the breakfast staff was extremely friendly.
We stay in the Boulder area about 4-5 times a year and have stayed at several hotels and AirBNbs. This was a great extended stay rate of $89 per night. Amazing value!
There’s also a wonderful walking/bike trail next to the hotel and close to a Target and many restaurants. I suggest heading to downtown Louisville for some good eats and drinks if you want something besides chain restaurants.
We would stay here again mainly because of Josh’s exceptional customer service. He went...
