Horrible Customer Service & Disrespectful Treatment – Avoid This Marriott Location!
This is by far the worst Marriott property we have ever stayed at. The customer service is absolutely atrocious, and the staff is not only unfriendly but outright rude and unhelpful. It’s clear they don’t want to be there, and they certainly don’t care about their guests. Instead of taking responsibility, they constantly blame the new General Manager and show no professionalism in how they interact with people.
Our experience was beyond frustrating. We extended our stay at 8 AM and received no communication until 12 PM, when someone who didn’t speak English knocked on our door and silently held up a phone with a text message saying, "Come downstairs immediately and talk to the front desk." Our in-room phone never rang, and no one attempted to properly inform us.
When we immediately called the front desk, the representative was unbelievably rude, demanding, *"Come down right now and pay for your room or you will have to leave immediately." This was the first we had heard of any issue! When I arrived at the desk, she coldly stated my card was declined. I told her that was impossible, as there were sufficient funds. She ran the card again, and—surprise—it went through. Instead of apologizing for their mistake, she simply brushed it off and acted as if nothing had happened.
I frequently stay at Marriott properties and am also a Diamond member with Hilton, and I have never been treated with such blatant disrespect and condescension.
To make matters worse, on Sunday morning at 8:45 AM, we were abruptly awakened by deafening hammer drillingq that went on for three hours. The noise was so intense that it terrified our 8-year-old son, who woke up crying in a panic and took a long time for us to calm him down. As someone who owns a construction company, I knew exactly what the sound was—but who in their right mind allows that kind of construction work that early on a Sunday?
When we called the front desk, we were once again met with rudeness and dismissiveness. The agent was sarcastic and completely indifferent, making it clear that it wasn’t their problem.
On top of all this, housekeeping was a complete joke. Our room was supposedly cleaned, yet the floors were never swept or mopped, and they didn’t even leave towels.
This hotel is far below Marriott’s brand standards, and the way they treat their guests is completely unacceptable. We’ve traveled extensively across the U.S. and internationally, staying at many Marriott locations, and this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had.
We are not ones to complain about minor inconveniences, but this hotel pushed us over the edge. If you are considering staying here, don’t—unless you want to experience rude service, poor housekeeping, and zero regard for guests. Marriott should seriously re-evaluate the management and staff at...
Read moreWe had no idea that the renovations were going to be that visible and audible. There was constant debris and such in the entry and elevators. The elevators themselves were all boarded up and a bit scary, as I'm assuming the renovations will be done to them last. There were no working ice machines unless you asked the front desk to let you in to the one near the breakfast area. Our room itself was mostly nice and newly renovated, but it was obviously not done to a very high standard (we had a shelf that was loose, and there were multiple rust stains on the porcelain in the bathtub, which also did not drain completely, so must have been put in without the correct leveling). There was only one small wastebasket for a suite made for 6 people. The coffee cups didn't match the size of the holders for them. As one other review said, "If you squint, it's great." Just don't look too closely. ;)
The breakfast was great, with the exception of not having any bagels/toast/breaded items the first two days we were there, despite there being a toaster and the peanut butter/jelly/cream cheese sitting there that you would use on those items.
The staff was mostly very helpful. We did have to go down to ask for more towels and toilet paper (as well as the ice). There was one staff member who didn't act very professionally and got into a loud argument with another customer in front of a lot of breakfasting people.
We had to use the laundry facility on the third floor, which is unfortunately one of the floors being renovated, and that was not pleasant. Thankfully, we were out of the hotel during most of the day and so avoided the majority of the noises from the renovations.
The pool itself is small but in good repair, but there is no hot tub. Some rust on some chairs that probably shouldn't have been in the pool area in the first place.
Considering this is under the Marriott name, we were really shocked at the state of disrepair of the parking lot, the entry area, the elevators, the hallways, etc. There was paint chipping, carpet not lining up, and more that we couldn't figure out if it had not yet been renovated or if it was just done that poorly. We're used to camping, so any hotel is going to be better than that, but we were still surprised and really disappointed. We know a lot of people who would have left after one night (or even one look), especially when the Marriott name tends to imply a certain level of care for...
Read moreOf all of places to stay in Westminster, CO, this Springhill Suites offers the best prices for the accommodations. The property is in need of some maintenance, e.g. corners of wallpaper peeling back from the wall, but the rooms are comfortable and the location is excellent with easy access to U.S.-36 and several area restaurants.
The rooms themselves are divided into three parts: bathroom/shower, sleeping area and a seating area. The seating area has a small coffee bar, a small refrigerator and a microwave. There is also a desk. Each room has a single TV which can be watched from either the sitting area or the sleeping area but not at the same time. The wireless internet access is free, does not seem to have any dead spots and adequate for email and general web surfing. I've never attempted to stream any content. The door locks do not work with the Marriott app on smart phones.
If you have status with Marriott, do NOT expect your status to mean anything to the staff when you check in, nor should you expect any room upgrades despite the property being nearly empty. Also, room maintenance must be arranged, i.e. scheduled room cleaning, which sometimes actually occurs according to the requested schedule.
Another issue I've experienced is lack of wash cloths. I am provided with three shower towels, two hand towels and usually no wash cloth. When a wash cloth is provided, it is a single wash cloth.
The exercise room has multiple treadmills and elliptical machines, a bench and a handful of free weights. For an exercise room at this level of property, I think it is fairly decent, but there is a glaring lack of sweat towels (bring your own) and there are no cleaning supplies. Lastly, there are miles of walking/biking/running trails on the east side of the hotel.
The breakfast buffet normally includes three hot options: oatmeal, sausage patties or links and eggs either scrambled or pucks. Also available are bananas, a few varieties of cold breakfast cereal, yogurt and some single serving pastries such as muffins. There is ample seating in the breakfast area and a drip coffee and tea area.
Parking on the west side of the property 'feels' very compact, so I would recommend parking on the north or east side parking areas of the property.
During inclement weather the staff (or a contractor) arrive early in the morning to clear the parking lot...
