Sadly, I can’t recommend this property to anyone so long as a man named Charlie remains in any sort of authority position. I should have read the FB & google reviews because it seems like others, including another Airbnb group, had similarly bad experiences last month with this man. The short version of our story is that we were yelled and screamed at by this Charlie guy over where to park in a really hostile, aggressive, and scary manner. We actually contacted Airbnb with a personal safety concern. ||||Here’s the long version. Our host advised us to park in the garage after we asked if we could park in outside spots along the street. He wasn’t aware of those and said to park in the garage/lot. We parked outside the 1st night. The next day, we followed his instructions to park in the garage. A random man (who I now know was Charlie) in the garage told us we had to park outside, and when I tried to talk to him about it, he verbally attacked and threatened us while not allowing me to get a word in edgewise to explain the situation. It was very hostile. Moreover, there were signs everywhere saying that parking was for Four Winds guests, which we were. There were absolutely no signs indicating that renters could not park in the garage.||||While we were walking away from him on the other side of the garage, I started venting to my partner. He apparently heard it bc he barged over and started screaming and threatening us again in an even more hostile and aggressive manner. He began screaming that (a) I cursed at him in front of his daughter, which I absolutely did not do, (b) our host would never tell us to park in the garage (Um…I have the messages to prove it), and (c) our stay was over bc he allegedly owned the whole complex. He did not own it at all, but rather sat on the HOA board, so he straight up lied to us in an attempt to intimidate us. I tried to reason with him again and show him our host’s messages advising us to park in the garage, but he refused to see them and continued to yell at us, saying that our stay was over. It was a horrific experience that very negatively impacted our stay even though our host did smooth things over. I was actually a bit scared when this man came barging at us, as was my partner. I didn’t feel comfortable using any of the public areas after that, including the pool, for fear that I would encounter him again. He always seemed to be hovering around the garage area, which was impossible to avoid. It was incredibly hostile and uncomfortable. Overall, I can’t recommend this property to anyone unless you’re comfortable with the risk of being harassed and screamed at by this man. And for the record…we did listen to him and park outside. The fact that we tried to talk to him about it at all was apparently what he found unacceptable enough to yell and scream at us. Proceed...

Read moreIt was very difficult to come up with an accurate rating for this hotel. It really fell between 3 and 4 stars depending on the room you got. All of the units in the hotel are individually owned. As a result there is tremendous variability in the quality of the individual rooms. In my opinion perhaps too much variability. We traveled with several family members so got to see several of the rooms. Our room fell on the lower end of the scale (though not the worst of the group). At the 4th of July week elevated pricing of over $339/night, it is hard to consider this a good value (even if it is not out of line with other Wildwood Crest hotels on the Beach).||||It looked as if it had not been renovated in some time, and was somewhat dated. It was somewhat clean (as much as any of the Wildwood Crest Beach motels are), but just looked worn. The AC worked fine, but the mattresses and bedspreads were somewhat lacking. We had a stove top and a pretty old refrigerator. We had a TV in living room of the efficiency, but not in the bedroom. Our Bathroom was in a somewhat dire need of a remodel as well.||||Other rooms in our party, were modern and updated, they had high end appliances (including a full oven), and a granite (maybe Quartz) countertop. Their furniture was new, and stylish, and their bathroom was nicely done as well. They had a TV in the bedroom, and perhaps more importantly new comfortable mattresses. If I had been given this room, it would be a 5 star rating for sure.||||The location of the hotel is excellent on the south end of the Crest. It also is right on the Beach, which is a tremendous. You do not have to cross a street to get to the beach. Great for kids and families.||||The pool is relatively small but clean. One thing to note is that due to the location of the hotel the pool gets morning sun, but is in the shade in the afternoon. I personally like afternoon sun better, but YMMV. ||||There are 3 clean decent sized grills down on the first floor available for guest use. While they got a fair amount of use, I can not recall having to wait to use them. There are also a couple of nice wider deck areas with tables on the 2nd floor, where families could eat outside. Also should note a small game room on the second floor that was used by some...
