I would not recommend this hotel. We chose it based on the good Google reviews, but ultimately our experience was a disappointment. The staff were unpleasant and unaccommodating. This was not for anything big - we only had little requests. I went in for change for the laundry, and asked if the change I suggested would work. The response from the front desk was "well I guess it will have to." The restaurant upstairs got our order wrong and did not have a lot of choices. The front desk did not open until 830am so if you needed anything before that you were out of luck. There was just a weird vibe to everything and other guests were very loud. Our room was just ok. We had an oceanfront suite - this meant the main entrance was in the bedroom. This was very strange and inconvenient as we had a little one with us who was trying to sleep while others had to enter and leave through the bedroom. In that bedroom, there was a window with a broken lock that went down in a straight shot 5 floors. Seemed unsafe to me! There were two solid doors to the (very small) balcony severely cutting off sunlight and views of the ocean. The windows facing the ocean did not open, so we could not ever hear the waves or feel the breeze unless we left the door open to the balcony - which at 5 stories up we did not want to do for the safely of our child. So we paid for oceanfront but never felt like we really had an oceanfront balcony. We would have preferred a lower floor int the first place, but were told specific room requests were not permitted. The worse part of the stay was the hot bedroom. There is only one air conditioning unit - in the main living space. The cool air does not make it to the bedroom so it is stuffy and hot in there all the time. If you are running the air conditioning unit and trying to sit on the balcony - you are being blasted by hot air from the back of the unit. So you would have to turn the air off to sit out there. There was only one elevator and it did not leave enough time for guests to unload and then reload, so it would close in our faces once we let exiting guests get out. Once we stood there and tried to get on it three times! There was a lack of luggage carts and we never got one at either check-in or out. Parking was so tight we were terrified about the safety of our car, which was new. Once we finally got one of the only good spaces there, we never wanted to drive anywhere for fear of losing the space. The whole experience was ok, not awful, but based on the reviews I was expecting much more. Despite recent updates that were apparently made, the whole place felt dated and the staff seemed a bit irritated by...
Read moreI wanna leave this review just to help someone deciding on their stay. I’m gonna start with the positives- the front desk staff were really nice and kind, housekeeping was nice and did a good job, location is alright. Now, I think the Waikiki reviews based on cleanliness are true, I think the room was clean and neat. But I wasn’t that happy with the room. I think the bathroom is nice, but the rest of the room is outdated and I really didn’t like the bedroom. I had the suite with the kitchen + couch+ bedroom , and I felt like the bedroom was suffocated in the back room, dark, no air flow, and old dark carpet and furniture. The tv is also pretty small too. I’ve stayed in wildwood for many years and a lot of hotels are basically the same and outdated so it’s not too surprising, but viewing the exterior doesn’t really match the interior. I think putting a bigger tv on the dresser and getting rid of that bedroom carpet, and putting an AC unit in the back would solve the issue. One of the days, I forgot to order coffee with my outsourced breakfast , and thought hey why not get coffee at the hotel and I ordered 2 drinks- capuccino and coffee with an espresso shot and It was almost $18. I don’t expect perfect lattes or food from a hotel , I usually go out and walk around to eat/drink, but for it to also be that cost was a little disappointing. The weather outside was kinda bad and chilly so I couldn’t eat it on the patio, and I didn’t wanna go up to the top to get the coffee, wait for it, then take the elevator again to go to my room and eat everything cold so I asked if I could eat my takeout eggs with the coffee I ordered there and the host said no. Then the Apple Pay wasn’t working and I asked the girl if I could take the coffee and come pay right after so at least I can enjoy everything hot ( I was legit staying at the hotel, where was I gonna go lol) and she also said no … tbh i got frustrated and let it go cuz she was a young girl, but the restaurant was empty anyways … I would’ve been more hospitable especially if the hotel guest is being a customer lol. lastly the parking is annoying.. I legit left at 1 am for 10 mins and someone stole my parking spot and I had to put an alarm for 8 am to make sure I can pay the meter across the street in time cuz there were no spots. I know it’s hard to make new spots appear out of thin air, but other places are figuring it out and doing valet type of services. Overall the place is Ok, but I wouldn’t stay again it’s...
Read moreGood hotel. Our overall experience was good. My family and I stayed here during a holiday weekend. This hotel is minutes away from the beach and boardwalk! Both places are within walkable distance. There were pros and cons to our stay. The pros were that the location is perfect. This hotel is right across the street from the beach. They offer parking on site. We didn’t have to walk far with our beach chairs. It was extremely convenient. There is a restaurant on site. It only serves breakfast and lunch only, but the prices are super low and convenient for a family that is on a tight budget. The restaurant offers beach view seating and plays reggae music at a comfortable volume. You really get the feeling that your vacationing somewhere in the Caribbean. Hotel service was good. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly. They offer bell carts for your luggage. This hotel had a Polynesian theme to it and the outdoor decor is nice. There is a pineapple fountain near the entrance. There is a pool on site and it’s small, but clean. The hotel features a deck that includes seating areas and grills for your convenience. There was a hotel phone in our room which was great. Now for the cons: the furniture and some of the decor inside the rooms are dated. The laundry room was not clean and had bugs on the walls. I could not wash my clothes comfortably. The machines are old and the laundry room in general just needs to be remodeled. Our hotel room was small. We asked for a room change because we were a family of four and the one room with two beds in it, had no room at all. The beds were inches away from each other and it was extremely tight in the bedroom. The TV screen in the bedroom was the size of a toaster! No joke! We didn’t even know they sold flat screen TVs that small. It would have been nice to have a regular sized flat screen in the bedroom. In conclusion, it was a good stay and I would recommend it. It could use some improvements but we...
