I use to come to the Pan Am restaurant all the time as a child so going back with my own family was something I wanted to do. Unfortunately, our experience with the new restaurant was not memory worthy. I made a reservation online and requested the patio for seating. Once we arrived no one checked for our reservation. I asked if we could sit on the patio. The hostess said they would set up a table for us. She started to escort us to a table inside. I again asked if we could have a table on the patio. Once outside the waiter seemed to be new so we tried to be patient.
My daughter in law has a peanut allergy. As soon as the waiter started to take our order she informed him of the allergy. He checked with the chef and let her know they use Soy oil to cook. We proceeded to order. All of our dishes came out except for my husbands. The waiter told him he, “forgot to put his order in”. My daughter in laws breakfast sandwich came out and there was what seemed to be Pesto on the cheese. She asked the waiter who said he could check with the chef. He returned and said the chef assures him he didn’t use Pesto. We asked what it was if not Pesto. The waiter said he assumed it was a Herb. We explained she would have a reaction and asked him to please ask what it was. He said he would have the waiter make another one.
The bill came and they did not charge for my husbands. However, the kids pancake on the menu is $8 for two. My daughter received one. We were also charged $1 for the cheese on my daughter in laws breakfast sandwich. The menu said it was included.
We will not return and certainly would not recommend. I’m hoping they are working the kinks out for the season and this isn’t a normal experience there. I certainly expected more and at $62 the experience was...
Read moreWe ordered the chicken Parmesan and the 6oz filet. Both were very good. The perfectly cooked chicken came with a linguine arrabiata. I did not particularly like the tomatoes which were used instead of a pasta sauce - but that is my preference. The steak included excellent mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was good but the only cook option was medium rare.
The menu as a whole for dinner is quite limited. If you have vegan or vegetarian family members there are really no good choices.
I would also like to see a few items that are less pricy. A burger option and a few other lower priced options as well as vegan/vegetarian options would be appreciated. This restaurant clearly does not cater to families but tries to be a higher end restaurant.
This restaurant is on the Pan American Hotel property which is a family oriented hotel. We'll see if this new restaurant will be a good fit here at the Pan American hotel. Hopefully the menu will adapt as it is very limited...
Read moreStaff was friendly, courteous, professional and overall excellent . Atmosphere was wonderful. Now to the food: Mushroom Fettuccini was on the menu, 3/6 of us were ready to order it and we were informed it was not available. Settled for Pompadoro. Cooked perfectly however overloaded with sauce and 10 cloves of garlic. As an Italian this would not be a problem however no bread is offered at dinner service so any sauce on the bottom of the bowl went to waste along with the delicious garlic. Chicken Parm had sprinkled grated cheese instead of mozzarella. Earlier in the day we had breakfast here. Omelets were spot on especially the BTM. ( Basil, Tomato and Mozzarella) Potatoes were great. Toast came out ice cold and we had to ask for a replacement. Overall I’d say you are on your way to having a great place in the Crest that offers an upscale yet casual atmosphere that is...
