I've stayed at the Yankee Clipper many times over the years. You def get what you pay for but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's a great price for the rooms you get and the location to the beach. I think the location to the boardwalk is nice as well. You aren't too far away yet you're far enough that you don't get all the riff raff of being close to the night time action when you don't want to be. Getting to cape may from here is very easy as well. They were in the process of updating the rooms when I stayed so there was a mix of old/new features in my room but my favorite update was that they put in laminate wood flooring instead of carpet and they replaced the old bed frames with just metal frames and the mattress. I feel that both upgrades will decrease the risk of potentially getting bed bugs from all the in and out of clients. They also have new owners and they couldn't be any nicer. The maid service is optional where if you want your room serviced you can put the door handle sign on the outside of the door which I like because I don't necessarily like the idea of someone being in the room where my personal belongings are without me there. I saw other reviews complaining about the bath tubs draining slowly but I have never stayed at the beach in a big hotel where the drainage is fast. Theres just a lot of sand constantly in the drains lol. I saw other comments complaining about the rooms being small but thats not an issue for me. I'm on vacation at the beach for a reason and thats to go outside and enjoy myself. If you are taking a vacation to solely stay inside then I guess this isn't the place for you if you're looking for a big lavish suite. Overall will def stay again. Thanks for the stay!
Edit: One last thing I noticed is people saying that there is only one air conditioner. I stayed there mid July and having the AC on 64 and keeping the back bedroom door open was plenty cool. At night going to bed we actually had to turn it to 68 because it was too chilly on 64 and we had someone sleeping on the pull out couch as well and she was more than comfortable with the...
Read moreWhen we checked in we were told where our room was..... go up the stairs make a left at the top of the stairs. OK well there was this opening that was about a foot & half wide. The view was of the back of another hotel. We were off the main gathering deck. The room was damp, curtains falling off the rod, door(even being bolted) didn't feel secure, the beds had no summer quilts, no bed spreads on them but two unmatching throw blankets folded at the end of the bed......no maid service either. When I say this room was truly forgotten about it was. It looked like they took what was left in stock from furniture to lighting fixtures and threw it in this room. I wiped down the bathroom and kitchenette daily with the clorox wipes I brought with me. Four wash clothes and a roll 1/2 of toilet paper for two people. We were basically forgotten about. Pool got cleaned eventually. Last night we were there we were woken up to 4 kids under the age of 12 at 1245am screaming and sitting outside our room. It took over 2 hours for us to fall back to sleep. When we checked out the sign on the door said 9am-9pm.....it was after 10am no one was there. So I dropped the key in the drop box and called multiple times...got the answering machine. Trust me this room wasn't cheap. This will be some place I will never stay at again!!! Suggestion READ all the reviews.
Finally got an someone on the phone about the keys....they were extremely rude and short with me. I perfer handing in the keys at check out to an actual human being. Cause I don't want someone coming to me and saying "the keys were never turned in and we're charging you for a new lock" Honestly I wouldn't put...
Read moreI can say this is the second year we have rented a hotel/motel In wildwood and stayed!
Issues:
Air lacks in other areas and the room is and was dreadfully hot!
Had to buy a tan so my family was comfortable!
The beds are wrapped in bed big plastic insinuating that they have had issues in the past , the plastic on one of the beds has mold on it!
The outlet covers are broken and have exposed wires which can cause a fire.
The bathroom is very very outdated and from like the 40/50s the toilet was so small it was suitable for a 5 year old or younger potty training
One tv in the room not Able to move it as it’s mounted to the table and you can not hook a gaming system to it as well the wifi is trash and very slow! Be Mindful if you have a aid gamers in your family!
They were doing construction on the hotel directly next to it and started at 8 am , so go figure if you wanted to sleep a little bit
They had other guests at the Resort were up all hours of the nite drinking and partying which again disturbed our slumber!
The resort has one cleaning lady for all three floors of said resort and she is over worked and underpaid and uou can tell. Y the lack of cleaning in certain areas and I do not blame her!
I was way over charged for our stay and I am quite displeased! Never again and I have already contacted my bank
Oh and the kicker they are non smoking rooms but yet I found three burns on the floor or our room!
Over all would not recommend it due to the outdated rooms bathrooms and lack of being a nice place and let’s not forget the beds are dreadfully hard to even attempt...
