Cape Cod Inn Condominiums — Hotel in Wildwood Crest

My family has been going to Wildwood for over 50 years and me personally for over 40 years. ||||We have only ever stayed at two motels, Tamarack and once that was sold, Cape Cod Inn (CCI from here out). We have been staying there for going on 20 years now and it is really a fun loving place to spend time.||||For the NJ style motels it doesn't get much better than CCI. Since we have been going so long my family is now like family to the owners. Angelo and my father were very close friends and the sisters are all lovely people as well.||||I'm posting this to give folks looking for a reasonably priced room, close to the beach and a few blocks from the boardwalk, the real review of CCI. There are too many whiny inarticulate folks giving this place 1 and 2 stars.||||Booking is simple and the sisters (Roseann, Sharon and Charlene) always try hard to accommodate folks the best they can. It's an extremely busy place so sometimes things are difficult, and they even handle the whiners with grace. Don't be a whiner.||||Rooms are typical Jersey shore motel style. I've seen no less than 15 different motels and hotels over my time there and CCI is up to par with all the best ones. If you want to pay a premium to be on boardwalk or for someplace like the adventurer go ahead but rooms are not going to be overwhelmingly better. For people writing about dirty rooms, please, you're at the beach and sand will be present in rooms sometimes. Our room was very clean as always, smelled good and if I needed anything I could ask. Before you post BS on here, try speaking to CCI staff first and they will clean anything up you're concerned about. Yeah sometimes kids leave toys under beds or get food on carpets, it's not the end of times.||||Location is prime. 1 block from the beach and maybe 3 blocks from start of boardwalk with basketball courts, baseball fields, bike rentals, tennis courts and doowop coffee and ice cream shop directly across the street at Tangiers. It doesn't get better as far as location for the price.||||Staff is friendly and will do anything to help your stay be more comfortable unless you become aggressive and rude, which I have seen happen numerous times. If you act like a maniac about a problem, in my experience you can expect to be treated accordingly. Maybe take a look inward if you're on here writing a 1 star review. In 20 plus years we have never had a problem that wasn't immediately resolved from installing a new AC to fixing a stove or door...whatever it is. Most of the staff now stops and has coffee or dinner with my family because they treat them with respect and are friendly.||||Pool used to be full of sunscreen sheen and sometimes had sand in it. You do understand thats a "YOU" problem right. Shower off before going in pool dirtbags. That being said, Albert is the best handyman in Wildwood and now is in charge of this and other pools. It is the cleanest pool ive seen at the beach. Water is blue and constantly being circulated. There was no sunscreen sheen or sand and temp was absolutely perfect to cool you off but not so cold you couldn't just hang in there for an hour. Also as an fyi note for every day common sense, dont take glass to the pool unless you want people like us getting up in your business because we will say somethimg to you stupid.||||Bottom line||Awesome location||Staff and owners will treat you like family||Good pricing||Clean rooms||As of 2019 perfect pool for beach motel||||For a Jersey shore motel I give this place a 4 star rating. False advertisement. This place was the most disgusting place my family has ever stayed in. Rooms were filthy. Hair in sink and tub. When you took a shower the tub would clog. There is only 1 air conditioner and it's in the back bedroom leaving the front of the hotel room muggy and hot. Sheets had stains on them and towels smelled like garbage. Towels were the size of a little bit larger than a hand towel and your were only allowed 1 per person. Our room was not ready upon arrival when we called ahead and they told us it was ready. There was no parking and the office said that some people(who are not guests) park to go to the beach but they don't stay there all day. Upon arrival there was sand all over the hard wood floor. I asked the maid if she can please clean the floor when she has a chance. She told me 'There is a mop and bucket next to the refrigerator and to mop it myself". I told her that I was not on vacation to clean the floor that I spent 2000 for my only vacation that I'm not cleaning"! She told me she was the only maid to clean the hotel all by herself and she was too tired. The maid service never cleaned the room the entire week. She would leave towels on the chairs outside by the doors on each floor. Sometimes you got lucky if you were able to get some toilet paper. After a storm, there were cigarette buts, glass, debris and garbage in the pool and you could not use the pool for an entire day. Furniture fell into the pool and they had the audacity to ask my daughter if she would go into the pool and take it out for them. Management talked terribly to the very few staff that was there working. They were so unprofessional in front of guests. Every time we walked outside didn't matter what time of day or night you got hit in the face with the smell of pot. My family could not once enjoy sitting outside because it was that bad. The miniature golf is non existent. They have a gazebo sitting in the center of the golf course. Garden ornaments broken. There is a ping pong table with no net and no paddle. Sundeck carpet was wet, dirty, full of mold and The furniture was broken .When I raised some issues with management they completely dismissed me. I should have known from the very first time my husband walked into the office, they never even greeted us and not even a hello!! Sorry for this complaint. We have been going to Wildwood for 45years and have never experienced such a horrific stay and we do not want any other family to make the mistake...

My mom and I were fortunate to have found this place last minute. The staff at the front desk were welcoming and helpful. One of the women working offered us a discount for a week stay which we were grateful. We didn't have to wait long to go to the room. We had an efficiency. We also had 2 televisions which was nice. The cable plan included extra music and movie channels which was nice to have on vacation. The room also included 2 beds and a pullout couch. All 3 were uncomfortable to sleep on. There was a nice size table and chairs set in the living room. My mom and I couldn't sleep in the bedroom the first night after adjusting the air conditioner. The smell stayed in the room for what felt like forever. For awhile, I was too anxious to fall asleep. Another concern we had was that the bathroom sink leaked. Another day the bathroom light went out and was fixed as soon as possible. The pool area was great. I loved that the pool went to 9 feet. My mom and I were able to listen to our Bluetooth speaker while swimming. What I also liked about this place was that they had a gazebo outside, as well as, a safe in the room. Google approximates a 9 minute walk to the boardwalk which is accurate. Maybe a 2-5 minute walk to the beach. Bike rentals and coffee shops are nearby. Playgrounds, basketball courts, and a baseball field is also nearby. The motel is also close to Cone Crazy which is a fantastic ice cream place. This place also offers grills to make meals.
