Just got back from the crusader and yes, I can say it was an experience. Since I don't enjoy stepping into the bathtub to open and close the bathroom door, I found the bathroom a little small. Also there was absolutely no water pressure. Rinsing shampoo and soap off took forever! We were not on the pool side, our room was not renovated, but it was clean. The best thing I can say about this place is the room service staff was outstanding. Anything I needed they were quick to provide and always with a smile on their face. I can't say enough about the wonderful cleaning staff. The office personnel is another story. The gentleman who sits in the office with an attitude cannot be bothered giving you a smile, a greeting, nothing. The woman in the office takes the attitude that nothing that happens is their fault or problem. Now for the parking issue. I mention the problem with the parking since the spots are not wide enough for the cars and if you park everyone has to get out of the car before you can pull in the spot because once you pull in you cannot open the doors. If you have a truck or larger vehicle, as most families do, parking is a real issue. Family vehicles are not fitting in their little compact spots. There's parking on the street, but then you need to keep changing the tag in your car depending on if you're parking in the street or if you're parking in the hotel lot. I mentioned this because it is a real problem whether they want to admit it or not. When I was there a fight broke out over parking and police had to be called. As I walked out towards the beach through the parking garage, The woman manager was walking back in telling her staff this was not their problem. Well if it isn't her problem, whose is it? Something has to be done about the parking or else stop promising that you will have a parking spot with your room. Be honest and say your spots are made for compacts, not family cars and it's potluck whether you get one that you can fit into. We come to Wildwood every year. Will not be staying at the crusader next year. This was our first year staying on the crest, I expected it to be a cut above and it wasn't. I think if the attitude of the office staff was more accommodating it would go a long way. Taking the attitude of there's nothing I can do, this is the way it is, when there is clearly a problem seems very weak to me. Even when I questioned having to come into the office every time to get the pass for the street if I couldn't get a spot in the hotel was no big deal for them. I guess because they're not the ones walking back and forth from the truck to the office back to the truck and then back up to the room every time. This hotel is in a great location on the beach, but it is not fully renovated. The part that needs to be renovated is the parking. Redo those lines so that a vehicle can fit in the spot and if you don't have enough spots just be honest. The fights over parking are the crusaders fault. Since this is your situation, you should have assigned spots, so when a compact car checks in you give them a compact spot, when an SUV or truck checks in, you give them a bigger spot. A little effort on your end would go a long way.
I see a request here for me to call the owner. Well I gave all my information when I stayed at your hotel. So you have my number. That phone works both ways. Feel free to...
Read moreI have nothing but horrible things to say about this location. I booked with them for the weekend and upon arrival it already seemed off, barely anyone there. (employees or guests) It took me 10 mins to just go inside because I wasn’t feeling it off the bat. We get in and it’s dimly lit and there’s 3 employees to which none greet us. The two in the lobby leave and we talk to Stephen for our keys, he was very nice and greeted us and told us in we need anything he’s here. Then he told us he gave us the wrong keys and to give the others back, it was fine. Then we get to the room and both (me and my boyfriend) tried making the best of it but there were already a couple spots on the sheets that we had seen and what looked like a spot of blood infront of the bathroom sink. We figured we’d walk around and see what the rest of it looked like. That’s when we saw 3 bins in the halls. 1 with ramen noodles in it another with Pepsis a case of water and plates. Kinda just gave off a homeless shelter vibe and not exactly a classy stay. The pool also was not heated. We didn’t want to stay and decided to turn iur keys in because the place was so desolate and not homey at all. I called to give my 24 hour notice and get a refund for the next night as I wouldn’t be staying. I was told to call between 10-2 for a manager. I got a hold of the man (who didn’t give his name, assuming it was the general manager Jon hawes.) In the morning who called me an "idiot" and a "liar" about the sheets he told me I "never even went into the room" which I did...(as seen in pictures.) and said the only thing he could find was, "sand from someone's legs on the bed after a walk on the beach probably." Which i I never went in the room if he claims means he knows housekeeping doesn’t change the sheets. 🤮🤮I never even went to the beach. I told him he can check the security cameras to prove l never went to the beach to which he responded that they, "have no surveillance" …sketchy? Overall it felt more like a homeless shelter. With my twenty four hour notice that I do not want to say the next night I have no refund because upon bringing this fact up he hung up on me. I'm extremely annoyed especially because he said that he "hates bookings" and the way they “treat his customers” by “lying to us and making us think we have a case.” I asked him why he uses bookings to fill his rooms then and he said "well it isn't my problem really is it? it's yours." I guess he uses third party’s so the blame is never fully on him because he even told me that, “we shouldn’t even be talking go...
Read moreExtremely disappointed! I went out on a limb. Tried a new hotel after staying at another location for 5 years In a row and with in 2 hours I’m very regretful.
We have a large group staying at multiple hotels. The kids are all meeting up and stopping along the way to change or grab a water (not use the pool , not take showers , not stay longer than 10 mins ) just change or meet.
Front desk woman chased my son down (who is 17 and super respectful ) while I was a few minutes away and was scolding him about people being on the property not staying here. These aren’t rowdy kids, not rude kids. They come to wildwood as a unit every year. And every other hotel that stop at along the way — NO ISSUES , no confrontations. I did notice a group of other kids coming from another hotel also entering our hotel and not a word was said to them. I do believe the approach on our group of kids was completely racially motivated.
I’m saddened because I have ate at the restaurant here many times and loved it. I walked by the hotel many times Thinking the location is great. But I am very regretful we chose this place. I had to tell my kids none of ur friends / cousins can even walk u to ur hotel. Not ok !!!!!! It’s the Jersey shore. They are just happy to be outside together free to walk around.
And you said the pool area - again no one came anywhere near the pool. Straight yo the room and we’re in and out under 10 mins.
Also I never said the rooms were clearly good as u mentioned below. I gave a very accurate rating for my experience and my kids experience. Also read reviews I leave. I’m always positive. Always 5 stars.
This made me so angry I had to give it 1. I wish I could give it zero.
I also notice anytime anyone disagrees with the facility instead of coming from a place of trying to fix and deescalate, you get nasty to dis credit their review. That’s not ok. Please don’t try to bully me.
I would hv likes a reply asking to talk in person or over...
