Reservation for Leslie Alison. We reserved this hotel for 9/3-9/5. We arrive at the hotel on 9/3 at 8:55pm with my husband, me and our 2 year old. We wait about 8 mins for receptionist to come help us and we get checked in. Receptionist stated they had 2 different rooms available. Handicapped single bed on the first floor and double bed on 2nd floor. We opted for the first floor just for convenience. We enter the room and we noticed the floor had missing patches of carpet and the overall carpet in the room was torn to pieces. My daughter barley pulled on the sink and the sink was coming out of the wall! NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN. Truthfully if there was more weight placed on the sink it could have fallen on her! I went to the front desk, explained the issues and I wanted to see what the 2nd floor room looked like. He gave me the keys and the comforter on one of the beds had black and yellow stains all over it! I went back to the front desk and explained and gave the key back to him. I told him I would be back after I discussed with my husband if we were staying here. Immediately I told him we were leaving. I then waited patiently for about 15 minutes to talk with receptionist as he helped other guests. I asked him for a refund and I stated this was unacceptable and he said he wouldn’t be able to give me a refund for 9/3 but would cancel the reservation for 9/4. We left the hotel at 9:20pm and ended up going to the Holiday Inn next door and was very pleased. Next morning on 9/4 I call corporate and they stated I had to go through the property to get a refund and they couldn’t help. So I did and spoke with Victoria. She stated she would call me back once the owner was in with an update and she agreed that it was unacceptable and that I should get a refund for the inconvenience. And also complained about the housekeeping being understaffed and that they don’t get that they have certain standards they should follow but don’t. She calls me back at 3:20pm and states the owner will not be issuing a refund because we were there for over an hour and the bed was messed up and stated looked like we slept in it. I told her we were not on site for over an hour. I have time stamps for how long we were there with our Life360 app. And two yes my toddler was on the bed put I didn’t want her running around a room that had exposed concrete and missing chunks out of the carpet where she could step on an exposed staple or something. Half of the 31 minutes we were on site I was waiting on the receptionist to help me. Overall this is bad service and not a way to run a business. I have reported to the BBB in hopes to...
Read morePLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING!!!! If I could rate this lower, I absolutely would. When we first walked into the room, it reeked but we figured it was just because it was old. Funny, we actually checked for bed bugs just incase, saw none, clearly weren't expecting roaches. We had just driven 10 hrs from Florida, exhausted, we ate, showered (well my husband did, we saw the roaches as I was about to shower, needless to say I didn't shower) and we were almost ready for bed when cockroaches came out crawling, with all the lights on! We were instantly disgusted by it and decided to leave. No matter how tired we are, an infestation is an infestation and we aren't bringing it home. If there is one roach seen with all the lights being on, there are hundreds more. We went to the front desk, said we were leaving due to the roaches. She goes, "Did you use the room at all?" I said yes...obviously it was 4 hrs later. It was just a stop for us to eat, shower and sleep but that doesnt mean we should have to deal with bugs. The lady said to call expedia, we did, expedia called the hotel and the hotel refused to give us a refund because we used the showers, etc. Honestly, we didnt even care about a refund or not, it was about the principle. The manager on duty said "well you said you were leaving before I could offer another room." Another room? These people need cockroach 101, they're everywhere and once you see one, that's it! Then we got the run around trying to talk to the boss Mark. We were first told he wasn't there then when we asked for a number to reach him, we were told oh he is on the premises, he's fixing something, call in 30 mins. We finally got an email to contact him. We were told we needed to show proof that we are actually staying at another hotel and we just didn't make up everything to refresh and continue on our way, why would we lie. The last thing we wanted to do was drive more. We sent proof of the new hotel and the picture of one of the cockroaches we killed. Mark said we would be refunded for half the hotel bill. (And we were, once we had to contact expedia again). They need to invest in some good exterminators....
Read moreIf the cost to stay here had been less, I might have given it two stars. The accommodations were pretty bad for the $140 I spent for my one night stay.
I was travelling with my small, bathed-the-day-before dog (thank you for accommodating her) so there was a $10 pet fee which was completely reasonable.
I just can't see how they charge $130 for the dumpy room though. I had Clorox wipes in my car and I had to go back outside for them before I set anything down in the room. This was because the desk had a sticky substance all over it, and the nightstand did as well. I cleaned the other surfaces just in case.
The rug was torn up in areas, and the sheets on one of the bed were stained so I slept in the other. Back to the rug though, it was so filthy that I didn't even want to put the clean dog bed down, much less walk on it. It was really gross. I used the bath towels to make a path so I wouldn't get my feet dirty.
The chemical smell in the room made it hard to breathe. They must have sprayed some disinfectant to give the appearance of having been taken care of.
There were heavy rains the next morning, and the hotel lacked a carport outside the front door, so I got soaked brining my bags out to the car. Breakfast was uninspiring to say the least. I took a black coffee to go.
When I helped myself to some ice, my bag slipped, and when I picked it up it was COVERED in black mold. No ice for me.
I was too tired to complain to the front desk because I had driven for 10 hours. The woman who was working was very nice at check-in, but I doubt that she could have fixed any of these issues. While I was waiting to check in there was another guest behind me who was clearly unhappy with her room as well.
Overall, I probably could have tolerated some of these low quality features had the price matched the accommodations. I left feeling dirty and completely ripped off....
