I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Red Roof, Wilson, NC. When we checked in the room overall was okay. The bed was a very nice size and rather comfortable. There was a refrigerator and microwave which worked fine. But the tv was small and it was programmed to use only a portion of the screen, weird with it already being small.
My issues started with the shower, or maybe I should say water, period. Apparently, I needed to let the water run for 20 minutes, if I wanted warm water. Shower or sink, and it did not matter if my spouse just used it, I still needed to let it run to warm up.
Then came the keys, apparently their system is set up to deactivate your cards daily. That was a pain, considering we paid for a week's stay.
Housekeeping was lacking in a big way. We were serviced one day and they did not leave any face cloths or hand towels. We were serviced one day and I have no ideal who taught the person how to make up the bed. It was a big flop. Then there were 2 days, that we asked housekeeping to come back at a particular time and needless to say, they did not come at all.
The lighting was rather dim, a light was out. I tried to use the washer and dryer on site and it was broken, so I had to go to a local washerette.
Overall customer service was very poor and nothing was offered to compensate for our poor service. We needed to extend our travel time, but there was no way we would continue on there. I do not recommend...
Read moreMy friend and I stayed here last night, and I love how the first pet is always free! I haven't found that in any other hotel chain yet. Every part of the hotel that I saw was VERY clean - from the lobby, to the breakfast area and parking lot - and especially our room, bedding and bathroom! It smelled clean too, without any overpowering chemical smells of any kind and it certainly didn't smell like pets or smoke! The employees were very very friendly and helpful. The mini fridge and freezer were actually cold when we got to the room, and kept my items at their proper temperature; I'm mentioning this because most hotels don't even have it turned on until YOU turn it on and my food never keeps overnight because of it. TV was easy to navigate. And I love how it's right off of 95. Other than the quiet atmosphere, and that it felt like a pretty safe area to be in (AND the comfortable beds!!), I think my very favorite part was the resident Hotel cat named Mimi. She's a relatively small Calico I believe, and she was just so friendly and lovable and I look forward to staying here in the future and seeing her again! **The only downside I really encountered, was the breakfast was very very small and lacking. So don't bank on breakfast, unless all you really want is cereal or a bagel, but they did have a waffle maker too! It didn't have any fruit or any meat or eggs, so it was very basic but it did the job if you can...
Read moreThis place is slightly better than spending the night in your car in a rest area. Avoid it unless it's your ONLY option. The ceiling is falling in our bathroom from leaking water in the room above. You need pliers to operate the bathroom sink faucet and even then it's a struggle. There is a noticeable dripping sound from the room above. The chair looks like it was left over from a yard sale and is probably vintage 1930's and needs a thorough cleaning. The TV reception is terrible. I think they must be using an antenna vs. cable. A picture as "snowy" could not possibly be cable. If you need anything from the front desk, get it by 10 pm because they shut down until morning. No reason to pay anyone for the 10 pm to 6 am shift. The swimming pool has weeds, some 3' tall, growing through the decking and there are cinder blocks scattered around the pool along with what look like some discarded automobile floor mats.. It doesn't appear it has been used for months. If you like a morning newspaper with your breakfast, better go somewhere else - there aren't any here. I don't expect this place to survive another year. That pretty much covers it. Oops, one more thing - I had trouble posting this review because the WIFI kept cutting out. I can't imagine that Red Roof Inns would allow their name to be used at a...
