The hostel itself is nice with spacious rooms and a shared bathroom. I found it genuinely baffling that they don’t allow you to leave your luggage for the day even for a fee. For a hostel, it felt very unfriendly to backpackers in that regard. Also the sign outside is nearly completely faded out.
Response to the owner: While there are certainly backpackers that take advantage of hostels and extensively utilize the common spaces when picking up their items, it is most certainly not ALL backpackers and this is definitively not an issue suffered solely by the hostel in question and can be avoided with proper communication and mutual respect. Furthermore, I do not believe my review is harsh due to the very real fact that we have to haul our luggage for an entire day while waiting for our ferry in the evening. This is not an issue I had to suffer in 2 months of travel in South America and I would say my score is justified given the level of...
Read moreWe were very disappointed in this hostel based on all the positive reviews. My husband and I have been travelling for 12 months staying mainly in hostels and this would have to be the worst yet. Most of the other guests seem to be living there full time and you feel like you are staying in a big share house rather than hostel. I think the staff are just whomever has lived there the longest. It is hard to identify which pyjama wearing person is staff if you need to ask anything. Shower sometimes worked ok and other times a trickle. We were in private room and floor was very dirty - had to wear shoes or feet were black. Door to room didn't lock from inside. Street feels a bit dodgy at night time as very quiet and no restaurants or bars are nearby. Wi-Fi was not great.||Positive was having use of...
Read moreThis hostel has been remodeled, and its design aesthetic is what booked me here. It really is a beautiful place. Its in a pretty cool location near all the museums and has access to the coastline if you like a morning or evening run, and its not more than an hour walk to the Tres Cruces bus station or the "Playa de los Pocitos" beach.||||There are approx. 15 rooms, some have a balcony and some do not. There is also a roof top, a TV room and a shared kitchen as well as shared bathrooms. The staff is young and fun and more than willing to help you rent a bike, find the supermarket and they often plan group BBQs for those who are staying. ||||And of course, as in any hostel, you have a great opportunity to meet many many exciting and interesting characters.. both...
