Visiting from Miami and was recommended here by the Barber. Good Chivito Canadiense (it’s the famous Uruguayan beef sandwich with Canadian Bacon). Their local house wine by the jar is good / refreshing and a good value. We say outside at Plaza Constitucion and service by Diego was very good. We had a great time. Total $34 USD for two. Pay with your foreign (USA) credit card since you get a 22% in the discount of their local taxes. Recommended!

Najgorsze miejsce w jakim jedliśmy w Urugwaju! Koszmarne doświadczenie. Wybraliśmy La Pasiva przypadkiem, bo przechodziliśmy obok i były stoliki na zewnątrz. Już samo zachowanie kelnera było zniechęcające, dostaliśmy menu ale gdy poprosiłam o hasło do wifi to kelner tylko coś warknął i poszedł. Zamówiliśmy dla naszej czwórki: spaghetti bolognese (prośba o makaron al dente), pizzę z 2 składnikami i mozzarellą, milanesa clásica i milanesa notovo. Do tego kieliszek wina, piwo i kawa. Na jedzenie czekaliśmy ponad 35 minut, gdy zostało podane, połowa dan była zimna. Pizza składała się z pieczonego ciasta na który została położona surowa szynka, plasterek sera i surowa cebula. Ser nawet nie został zagrzany w mikrofalówce nie mówiąc już o pieczeniu. Spaghetti okazało się niejadalne. Sos zrobiony chyba z proszku bo na dnie talerza była różowa woda, zamiast mięsa mielonego były parówki i ogólne wrażenia smakowe były koszmarne. Makaron zimny i nie wyglądał ani nie smakował jak świeżo gotowany. Oczywiście do tego był rozgotowany. Obie milanezy były również niejadalne, z mrożonych, gotowych składników. Z całego naszego zamówienia tylko piwo było w miarę ok. Radzę ominąć to miejsce szerokim łukiem, jeszcze na koniec rachunek się nie zgadzał, bo ceny na rachunku dość mocno odbiegały od tych w menu. Totalny koszmar.

Son una "cadena" de restaurantes en Montevideo, no sé si en todo Uruguay. Son platos estándar, es algo como para comer algo rápido o ir a charlar en familia o amigxs. Fui a dos, en el del centro que está dentro de una plaza, allí pedí un chivito, café y un té, no sabía que se podía pedir al plato así que lo pedí con pan, era más pan que carne 😂, aunque estaba bien de sabor, al final eran más papas fritas que chivito 🥲. El servicio estuvo bien ahí, solo que tuve un incidente en el baño, aplicaron legia, clorox decol (no sé cómo le dicen) en extremo, no sé si sabían pero la exposición al gas que producen esos productos puede causar INTOXICACIÓN, no sé necesita tanto producto para lavar, con jabón y un poco de eso ya está, horrible me lloroseaban los ojos. La persona que hizo la limpieza ni tapabocas tenía, tampoco hay un punto de ventilación cerca. Fui a uno que queda en ciudad vieja, todo bien hasta que hubo que pagar, me extraña que en una zona turística no sepan cómo cobrar de una tarjeta débito 👎🏻, ya vi que otros usuarios se quejan de lo mismo. La chica no quiso sumar nada de la cuenta si no hasta el final donde no le cuadraba eramos varios pagando en ese momento.

I usually do not write bad reviews in fact this is one of my very few. But this place which has been one of the bigger chain restaurants for many years here, is just not very good anymore. They used to be better but they must be coasting on their old reputation. First the place is way the hell overpriced for what you get. The food is diner style and that WAS what it was good at. This place is located in the heart of Ciudad Vieja and they do not accept credit card.. Well they accept credit cards that almost none has it. The service was ok. This is not a local small place this is big brand in Uruguay, and they don't accept credit Card?Neither debit card? Really? Prices are super high and you can't even pay with credit card. I really wish there were less "La Pasiva" in Montevideo. The concept is really simple: Let´s buy the most prominent locals in Montevideo, let´s make them beautiful so they atract tourists. And let´s sell them the cheapest and low quality food we can at the same price than in a great restaurant. No wonder the star of the menu isn't even a dish but a mustard.
