We stayed at the hotel and also organized with them excursions (Aral sea adventure & the Khorezm ancient fortresses). Great organization and great communication from the very first email. Everything was arranged smoothly and went on beautifully. There has been some technical issues on the way, which are expected in such adventures, but they were all managed professionally. The drivers don’t speak English, but the manager (whose English is very good) is always available by phone to help out. I can recommend 200% Attached pictures (random) are from the tours we had with them

You can book different shared day trips out of this hotel for USD20 per person, guaranteed daily departures, which is a far cry from the obscene prices you see listed on Viator. I also got in touch with a few other local travel agencies in Uzbekistan before I arrived and was also quoted very high prices.

The owner of the hotel arranged a private driver for me for a day trip to see five ancient fortresses of Khorezm, and I only paid USD40 for a trip that lasted more than seven hours.

I think the owner of the hotel is more interested in making sure work is available for all the drivers that depend on this for a living rather than making big bucks out of individual tourists.

I actually went in at first because I was buying a flight back to Tashkent and the airline website wouldn't accept my credit card as payment, and he offered to have me use his card for the transaction, and even when I offered to pay him 20% more he absolutely refused.

As for the driver, he didn't even bother to take me to a tourist trap for lunch, just some simple place where the local people go. And while I offered to pay for lunch, he didn't try to take advantage of me either by ordering as much food as possible, only two modest somsas that cost nothing, and not even a drink.

I am so impressed by the kindness of the people in this area. We from the capitalist West who love money so much can learn so much from...

We booked this hotel for two main reasons: it was inside the old city and there was nothing else available in the same area for the time we were there.

Pros: the staff was very nice and helpful and the hotel is within walking distance from the main attractions from Khiva.

Cons: the rooms are very very very modest and not thoroughly cleaned. The bedsheets had some holes in them, the furniture in the room we stayed looked old and not maintained, the light switch was coming out of the wall, the water tap for the toiled was not closing so we could hear the leaking water the whole night. Eventually I had find the tap and close it by hand to get some silence so I can sleep. And overall tyere was a lot of dust (mainly because the area around the hotel has dirt roads).

If you are not bothered by the above mentioned cons things then it is an option at an...
