Pros: Location and a good view
Cons: most of the staff are not interested in helping you (door staff were too busy chatting to open the door for me struggling with a pushchair and bar staff ignored us twice to serve bigger tables who arrived after us).
The breakfast buffet was a 'hairy' mess and the amount of waste was terrifying to see (literally by the service trollys being wheeled around as youre eating). Way too many diners in one space and people were piling food onto their plates leaving hardly any food out.
the lifts were too slow and we often had to wait even longer because they were full as only two were working during our visit. I'd highly recommend a lower floor and to use the stairs.
the room was not clean and we had to ask for our sheets to be changed after check-in as they were strained in multiple places. We found long black hair absolutely everywhere (all over the sofa, shower cubicle, arm chair).
the additional deposit of £60 (which is not mentioned on Bookings.com) made me feel quite uncomfortable when being 'welcomed' into the hotel. Very odd. Even in budget hotels I've never come across this.
location (yes a positive and negative). The location is good. Its very close to the lovely beach and amenities (excellent restaurants, convenience stores, coffee shops, laundrette etc). However, this also came with a major negative. The hotel is across from the loudest beach club I have ever encountered. The bass is incredibly loud and it made our front facing room, which we paid extra for when making the booking, almost unusable. We were trying to stay out of the hotel for as long as possible due to the noise. But as we were traveling with our young baby, we were stuck in our room with the blaring music. Sadly, the balcony was unusable past a certain time too as the music was too loud (again, we paid extra to have a central balcony on a high floor). The hotel should make it extra clear about the loud music until 2am (especially when booking with a baby). I can count the amount of sleep I had across the four nights on two hands. I left the hotel feeling so sleep deprived and rubbish.
Overall, I would not come back to this hotel and I especially wouldn't advise coming with a baby or child. Maybe prior to having a baby I could deal with the noise and general vibes of this hotel. But now I really do appreciate a semi-decent nights sleep and a warm service whislt in the depths of postpartum life. I hope things to do change for the better here as I really did hope this hotel ould live up to its high rating. But sadly I found this hotel up there with the...

I recently stayed in a studio apartment under the A La Carte brand, and it was an amazing experience. This Airbnb unit perfectly blends convenience, comfort, and modern living, making it a great choice for both short and extended stays.
Location: Located in Da Nang, the apartment was in a prime spot, offering easy access to My Khe Beach (just a short walk away) and close proximity to cafes, restaurants, and local shops. If you’re interested in exploring the city, major attractions like the Marble Mountains and Dragon Bridge are just a short drive away. It’s a perfect base to experience the city while being close enough to the beach for a relaxing time.
Apartment: The studio was clean, bright, and stylish, with a minimalist yet cozy design. The open-concept layout made the space feel bigger than expected. The furniture was comfortable, including the bed and lounge area, and the kitchen was well-equipped with a microwave, stove, fridge, and all the essentials for cooking a simple meal. The apartment had modern technology, including a smart TV, fast Wi-Fi, and air conditioning, making it a comfortable stay throughout.
Amenities: The apartment comes with access to A La Carte hotel amenities, such as the rooftop pool, which offers panoramic views of the beach and the city. There's also a gym available, and the apartment building itself is secure with 24/7 access. The owner or host provided detailed instructions and was very responsive when I had questions about the apartment or the area.
Service: The communication with the host was seamless. Check-in was easy, and they made sure I had everything I needed during my stay. It was clear that they were committed to providing a great experience, as they were very accommodating and offered helpful local recommendations.
Value: Considering the location, quality of the apartment, and access to hotel amenities, this studio apartment provided excellent value. It felt like a home away from home with the added benefit of enjoying the resort-style facilities of A La Carte.
Overall Experience: I had a wonderful stay at the A La Carte studio apartment. It was comfortable, well-located, and offered all the amenities I needed for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Da Nang who wants a blend of privacy, comfort, and access to high-quality...
Read moreDO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!
I would like to start off by saying that all the staff we encountered at A La Carte were wonderful and I believe they did everything they could to ensure we had a lovely stay. The hotel itself is a bit dated and could definitely use a refresh, but overall it’s clean and the pool, gym, sauna and spa are great.
Unfortunately, I have to base my review on the fact that A La Carte fails to provide the most basic requirement of a hotel: a quiet place to sleep.
There are beach clubs directly across the road that blast incredibly loud music late into the night. We initially checked into an Ocean View Apartment and I honestly couldn’t believe how loud it was. It was impossible to think, let alone sleep. The bass was so intense that the springs in the bed were literally vibrating. This room was on the 17th floor, so I can’t even imagine how much worse it would be on the lower levels.
I had read a few reviews mentioning the noise, but I’m not a light sleeper and figured it would be manageable. Never in a million years did I expect it to be that bad.
To their credit, the hotel moved us to a One Bedroom Apartment at the back of the building on the 21st floor. While it was an improvement, our sleep was still disturbed. Even with earplugs in, my husband could hear the music. Unfortunately, we were unable to change hotels and over the two weeks we were there, we only had two decent nights of sleep (both times it was raining and the beach clubs didn’t operate).
I understand that the hotel has spoken to local authorities, but if the situation remains unresolved, they need to take action themselves. As a priority, A La Carte must improve their soundproofing; whether it’s better window glazing, secondary window inserts, acoustic curtains, or all of the above.
To make matters worse, we were told there would be no refund for the first week when we moved from the Ocean View Apartment to a regular One Bedroom Apartment, because it was “our choice” to move (as if we had any other option?!) That policy needs to change. Guests should be compensated in situations like this. Quite frankly, it’s unacceptable that A La Carte charge more for the Ocean View Apartments when they are clearly the worst-positioned rooms in the building.
I feel compelled to warn fellow travelers against staying...
