Hotel ratings by stars are usually a useful tool for consumers in evaluating the quality and amenities of a hotel. Eden Ocean view fails the rating scale of stars on all levels.
The hotel in itself looks confused as it's a 5* or a 4* but one thing that is evident is it deserves neither but a 2*.
The only upside of the hotel is that they have a prime location. It looks like that has gone too much into the management that now they do not care about anything else.
The hotel is very outdated to the extent that the Air Cons are leaking everywhere. While sitting in the lobby or the restaurant one has to be careful not to end up under one of these leaking ceiling mounted Air Cons. There are cobwebs on the lights in the lobby, most of the lights flicker as if no one bothered to call an electrician for a while. The wall papers can be seen coming out at places.
The staff at the lobby are busy trying to sell their tour packages for Bana Hills and Hoi An. Which is far more expensive that what you would get if you ask from any travel agent nearby.
They also tend to have a low staff-to-guest ratio, ensuring that every guest is left on their own. More so they behave as if it's a favour they do to you in considering your requests.
The rooms are outdated, with small windows which open like hatches. No balconies, just manage a view from these so called windows.
The restaurant staff needs special mention for being rude to any requirements. It's as if you can either eat what is laid out or you may get lost. The team in the restaurant is led by a angry manager by the name Ms Trang, who almost behaves like a warden in a camp. She makes sure no staff also caters to your simple requirements ( mostly trying to cover it up as a lack of understanding of English). Even Google translator can be tough on the task here. Unlike any hotel they on purpose do not have a complaint register so they don't have to deal with issues rather can brush it under a carpet and maintain their star rating.
It is sad that I have to leave such remarks, not dwelling more into specific details. But they leave me with no option. Though there was a executive manager who somehow was kind to attend to the ill behaviour of her restaurant manager. Which is appreciated as at least someone in the whole hotel understands what hospitality is.
I hope the general manager who couldn't be found at the hotel visits the hotel at times. Still what can be summarised is that the hotel was conceptualised to give some good facilities but somehow the lack of maintenance and the services in terms of behaviour of the staff is letting the place down. Yes if one is looking just at the hypothetical star rating for the price one can think of staying here but do keep...

My recent experience with Eden Ocean View was nothing short of humiliating and infuriating. I have stayed at multiple properties across different locations, but I have never encountered such disgraceful and pathetic behavior as I did here. The staff, especially the receptionist, was unbelievably rude, harsh, and arrogant during the check-in process – an experience that should have been smooth and welcoming turned into something completely unacceptable.
What shocked me the most was the receptionist’s shameless attitude. Instead of showing basic courtesy or professionalism, they found it amusing to laugh at paying customers. This isn’t just poor service – it’s a blatant sign of disrespect and a complete lack of hospitality ethics. It felt as though customers here are treated as if they’re doing the hotel a favor by staying, rather than being valued guests.
When a property is charging guests, there’s a fundamental expectation of respect, politeness, and a welcoming attitude. Unfortunately, Eden Ocean View failed miserably on every front. The staff lacked basic customer service training and seemed to take pride in mocking rather than assisting their guests. This behavior was not just unprofessional; it was insulting and humiliating.
The management of Eden Ocean View should be deeply ashamed of employing staff who behave this way. Hospitality is about warmth, courtesy, and ensuring that a guest feels comfortable and respected – Eden Ocean View has clearly forgotten or chosen to ignore these principles.
I strongly urge anyone considering this property to stay away unless you are prepared to be treated poorly, disrespected, and made to feel like a burden instead of a valued customer. For me, this was the first and last time at Eden Ocean View. There are plenty of other places that truly understand hospitality – sadly, this is...
Read moreBEWARE OF CHARGING SCAM! The hotel is OK but far from the star rating it has. First impressions are great with a lovely air-conditioned lobby which belies a grander hotel than what it is. Breakfast room was hot and stuffy with mould marks all over the chairs and definitely not worth a visit, much better food options a short walk from hotel. Room was fine, cool and clean but it is noisy. We were given one with a connecting door so when the guests next door were playing videos/watching TV most of the night it disturbed our sleep. The shower floods the whole bathroom and the toilet seat was yellowed and with ingrained stains on the seat. I could have got past all the above as it served our basic requirements. However, checking out was a disgusting experience. We headed with our driver to the door when we were told to stop as our room had to be checked before we left. Unusual custom but we waited. Were told all ok and again headed for the door before being shouted "stop". They then said that we had broken a cup and had to pay. We had not broken a cup. We argued our case so they sent a photo to reception. The inside of the coffee cup had the remnants of some coffee and the tiniest hairline crack that we had to zoom into the photo to see. Not something we had noticed and certainly not something that drinking one cups of coffee could possibly have caused. It looked to me like Normal wear and tear of a ceramic cup. It took 15 minutes of arguing before I had to write a note on the bill to say we had not caused it. It probably wouldn't have been a lot of money but it was principal. Very unhappy...
