Me and a friend Stayed in this hotel after a 2 day trek with a local guide. During the trek we stayed at a homestay in the mountains, which was lovely. However when arriving back in the town we were eager to check in and relax for a bit. Room itself was pretty nice, spacious and clean. The bathroom was again clean and modern. However it was the views from the rooms balcony were most impressive! Staff were also on the whole friendly and helpful. ||||On both sides of the hotel there appeared to be building work going on, however as somewhere clearly experiencing a tourist boom this can hardly be blamed! after all if you are yourself a tourist you cant complain about more hotels being built. Didn't find this to be a problem with sleep or anything!||||My only gripe is the fact the air-con and hot water in the room were switched off 3 times during the stay. The first time I assumed there may have been a power outage or a trip. when we came back to the hotel later both were fine then went off later on. I went down to reception to tell them both had stopped working. I was told it would be fixed after giving my room number. This is when the lady on reception almost appeared as if she was ushering me to leave reception, I had my suspicions which were confirmed when I saw her open a panel behind the desk where there were switches, obviously allowing them to turn water heaters and air-con off for rooms. The same happened in the morning, where I had to go back down and ask for it to be turned back on. Whilst it wasn't as hot outside as it was at lower levels it was still humid and I had caught the sun quite a bit on the trek so appreciated to cool air from the air con. Was a bit annoyed by this practice of switching stuff off in rooms. Appreciate that both are costly to run but they are provided for paying guests and they should at least be upfront about this if they want to ration use of such facilities. ||||Without the air-con/hot water rationing it would have been 5 stars because otherwise cant...
Read moreI wished I had read the review here before I booked, I booked from a person on facebook because the price was better than other places but it's not even worth that price (we paid 1200k/person including the bus ticket from hanoi to sapa). To me it's like a 200k/night/room kind of hotel, just a place where you could close your eyes and sleep. Add in a few bucks and go to another hotel.
The view was underwhelming, the road leading here is EXTREMELY STEEP so it's impossible to go if you don't know how to ride the vietnamese bike (literally you could ascend to heaven)! we always had to go the long way else it would be too steep. We rented the motorbike for 3 days because the taxi fee here is too unreasonable (anywhere its like 70k just to go 2 miles), they gave us just enough petrol to go to the petrol station:) the staffs are under training so they give me different infos from the owner but I'll cut them some slack, you just have to speak directly to the owner for the info.
The hotel room is really run down, water coming from the ceiling, the plugs not working, wobbly water sink (it almost fell out), a broken TV, the elevator was full of trash yet uncleaned, the coffee shop underneath never has any staff, but I give them 2 stars because I can sense they're trying to get better:) but yeah, at this point you should try...
Read moreThe best thing about my room was the view to the magnificient mountain range. The air was fresh in the early morning which made it instantly amazing. The room was quite spacious. However, the "complementary stuff" only consisted of an almost used up toilet paper roll, and a few brushes and some towels. Not impressed.||The hotel arrangement and decorations were meh. i feel like this should be called a motel, not hotel. Things are all over the place - shoes, boxes, chairs. It's a mess. ||The dining room was spacious also. A lot of light and good view of the mountains. ||The worst part here was the food. Wait for it...||The food was horrendous. Prepared by total amatuers. Breakfast generally consisted of fried eggs and sausages, bread, stuffed rice pancakes, noodles and tea. The noodles were generally not seasoned because they were poured over with boiled water. I couldn't finish mine on the second day. The dinner was painfully slow. We had to wait at least 15' for each dish to slowly show itself. ||I understand it might be a slow season and the service might not be up to par. But I think the hotel owners should clean up the place and put a little more efforts into the food.||Other than that, the owners were very friendly and passionate to show us...
