This hotel has it’s pros & cons:
PROs: *friendly very helpful staff *beautiful lobby *well appointed spacious rooms, nicely decorated *concierge services at front desk for motorcycle rental, tour tickets, etc *shower separate from toilet, nice bathroom *nice views off 2 balconies from room, making room light and airy *free breakfast *strong air conditioning in room
CONs: Only Two - the Noise & unreliable in-room wifi VERY noisy hotel. Of all the places we stayed in Asia, this was the noisiest! We believe it was a combination of factors such as: *main clientele are families with children, so there is lot of noise from the kids *the structure of the hotel is such that you can hear noise from many floors on your floor because of the open tiled corridor in the middle of hotel from ground to roof. So we can hear kids running around screaming and playing on lobby floor (or some floor, who knows), doors slamming, people arguing from our 6th floor room #604. Sounds dubious but it’s a fact. *if you have a view room (ie their premium rooms) you are over the pool. This means a lot of pool noise. It doesn’t sound like from 6 floors up, it sounds like it’s right outside your balcony. *And lastly, hotel’s poor attitude towards the noise - we only complained once during a 5 NIGHT STAY about the kids noise when it was getting late and kids were literally screaming and running around. But when we called to complain, the reception said sorry but these families are on vacation too! Really!?! So you let kids run the hallways playing tag or whatever they want screaming at will?? That really sealed it for us. *another eg: one night at ~01:00am, a couple got into a heated arguement on some floor, with the man screaming at her at the top of his lungs - it actually sounded violent. After 10 minutes of this we finally called the front desk. No Answer. OK, I guess we should’ve expected that. It lasted 20 mins before they finally stopped and went into their room slamming the door.
Unreliable in-room wifi: it was essentially non existent. When we asked, they said to just leave the door ajar or open to get it! Really!?! We tried ajar, but it didn’t work still and we were 9t about to prop our door open while we live there, so we essentially had to go to the lobby or the breakfast buffet to access internet as even cellular data was not good in room.
So for us at least, we cannot stay here again; because despite the lovely accommodations, we could not relax with all the noise that is tolerated here and we need in-room...
Read moreBased on the good reviews on Agoda and for the view of the hotel we decided to book 1 night there. ||This hotel from the appearance had everything to please : good view, near the center of Sapa, a good decoration... but in fact it was horrible. ||We had a double deluxe room on the 1st floor. The bathroom standards are waaay below average : not very clean, the bath tube was not really in good shape, the toilet was not functional, no mini-bar, dirty spots on the pillow, curtains dirty as well... |with all of these distinctions we didn’t really enjoy our stay at the hotel.|Moreover, the breakfast was included but it was not that quite good.||The view on the pictures presenting the hotel on Agoda or TripAdvisor are nice, but now there are constructions in front of the hotel, so in the future I think you’ll get a less beautiful view.||Plus, the hotel is rated 3 stars. I don’t see how they got that. It’s really far from being a 3 stars hotel. It has the quality of a 1 star or no star. ||Except, the receptionist that was quite nice and helpful, I don’t recommend this hotel. I think you can find better hotels with the same view at that...
Read moreWe stayed here for two nights while visiting SaPa.||The hotel is quite dated and in need of renovation. There is no lift in this this hotel, and when you have large suitcases it makes difficult work to get your luggage to the higher floors. They only have one staff member to help with bags, and he was unable to lift my bag.||All staff speak very little English which made it difficult to communicate. ||The breakfast was not well suited to westerners, and it was inconsistent. On my the second morning there was no coffee.||There were stains on our pillow cases when we arrived, which we tried to communicate with reception about but the lack of English spoken made it difficult. Eventually they understood and the pillow cases were changed.||The view is nice, but there is constant construction work taking place below the hotel which makes it unpleasant to spend time in the room...
