Hello Dalat Hostel — Hotel in Da Lat City

The room I booked was small, OK for one but two would struggle. For example, the bed was flush to the wall on one side with about one metre of space on the other. The bathroom shower was not in a cubicle but in the same room as the lavatory. Water was hot.No soap or shower gel supplied! The room was clean and quiet, had a window on the third floor. I paid VND305000 on Booking. I have now discovered that is too much for such a room as I am now in another hotel for the same price much bigger room regular bathroom with shower unit. I asked what the walk in price was and he told me VND320000 (plus surcharge, see below) which insulted my intelligence and made me question his! Breakfast included just eggs and toast, banana and tea. The state of the kitchen was horrendous and there's a lavatory adjacent which would be illegal in most countries.

I've included a picture of the view looking down from the window of my room. Those bottles are the refuse from the hotel. Instead of having a water dispenser they sell plastic water. And that's the result. Finally an undisclosed surcharge, 3% for credit card payment. Nice. I wouldn't stay again, three stars is fair, I slept OK and the TV was good. My experience started off with my bus coming into Dalat at 4am (4 hours earlier than expected). I called the hostel and explained that it was the middle of the night and my bus came in early. I wanted to know if I could go to the hostel earlier than expected so that I didn't have to wait around so late at night. My phone call was answered right away and I was warmly greeted and shown to my bed. The hostel is run by a wonderful and friendly family who showed kindness and gave me many recommendations for must dos and sees in Dalat. At the end of my stay I looked at my bill and they didn't even charge me for the first night that I came in early. Not only were the owners kind, but the hostel was new and really clean and tidy....

Brand new hostel everything is very clean, breakfast was very nice, chilled out hostel but that's what you want when staying in da lat as it's very chilled out and no real night life, location is the perfect near to everything.
