Just don't even bother. I booked this innocently on booking.com and was sucked in by the first four images. These images are actually another hotel's and the rooms at this place are not the rooms pictured. Strike one! ||Strike two! So we turned up and waited ages to be served as another couple (who weren't staying at the hotel) were booking a tour. We then were served by a young lady who then asked us again to wait for 10 minutes whilst they got our room ready. I had paid extra for a 'Deluxe Family Room', which had one double bed and one single bed with a balcony. When we were taken up to our room, we were given a small twin room with no balcony. The room was grotty, with wallpaper falling off the walls. The internet was really bad and the room was pretty sad and tired to be honest. Now we have been staying in some really budget places, so are not ones to complain or be fussy, but this was just rubbish to be honest. ||At the time I was just going to settle, as we had been travelling so much that day - but my husband pushed me to go and ask if we could be moved to the correct room. We are a married couple and had paid for a double bed!!!! When we went to speak to the lady on the desk, we had to wait again whilst another traveller was flirting (really badly) with her lol! When we finally got her attention, she said that we couldn't move, as the hotel was full. I then asked if we could have the difference refunded (as I had paid extra for the Deluxe Family Room), but she out right refused, she wasn't even willing to look into it for us. She then said do we want to cancel - so we felt that we had to because she was being so unhelpful and the fact we had paid extra - we had to make the point. She said we wouldn't be charged for cancelling. ||We then left and found the King Ly Hotel - which was truly amazing and so cheap. The location was fab too and the room was beautiful. The next day, booking.com notified me that the awful people at Hanoi Hoa Duong Hotel had noted us as a 'no show' and claimed we hadn't even arrived - meaning they were probably going to charge us for a night. I actually have photo evidence that we were there!!! I contacted booking.com, to tell them what had happened and they have been really helpful. Currently at present, I have had no money taken from the hotel, but I'm checking every day to make sure they haven't. If they do booking.com will sort it for us. ||Basically, this place is using false advertising with fake photos and I don't actually think some of the rooms even exist that are advertised. It may be cheap yes, but there so many other hotels and hostels in Hanoi that are so much better -- plus you will be treated...
Read moreWe originally arrived at an agreed 2 or 3 am as this is when our flight got in. ||We then had to drive across town In pouring rain with big bags because they overbooked.||They took our passports for the night as it was too late to scan? I'm not sure if the scanner only works certain hours but in the morning we were I formed they had been taken somewhere else! ||After a very stressful time they eventually found them, needless to say this isn't a good thing at all.||The girl on the desk can't let you walk in without trying to sell the tours for a high price.||We told the girl on the desk that we had booked elsewhere and she came across very aggressive.||On the last day of 3 we were charged additional fees, nobody was able to explain why, I can only assume that this was because we didn't book there highly priced crowded...
Read moreArrived here at 2pm having made a booking on booking.com. Guy at desk kept saying10 minutes 10 minutes, it looked like there was some problem by the way he was speaking to the other lady at reception so after we were left sitting there for ages we tried to ask him a few questions if there was a problem with our booking (so we could look for someplace else) and he ignored us. Eventually he came over and looked at our booking number comparing it to his diary but couldn't find it. Brought us over to another hotel instead which didn't meet all the criteria we booked. The annoying thing was there was still availability showing on booking.com for the same room we booked so some other unfortunate couple would probably go through same thing ?? Glad that we had only booked for 1 night and didn't have...
