After travelling Vietnam south to north, we decided to splurge for the last few nights spent in the country and spent a bit more than in the other cities we visited. The outcome, however, was quite disappointing.

Sure, the hotel is placed in a nice location and our room was clean with a comfortable bed, but those are the only good things. There were some works going on in the neighbouring building, meaning that we were woken up by the drilling and hammering of construction workers every morning at 6AM, not exactly the time I want to wake up while on holiday. When we brought this up at the reception we were just dismissed with a “there’s nothing I can do about it”. The rest of the staff was a bit more helpful, except for a guy dead set on selling us tours to places we had already visited/had already planned thoroughly to visit, and after a few times it became a bit annoying. I also didn’t like that our room seemed somehow unfinished: there’s a few switches that do nothing and it looks like they wanted to put lights in some places but just left the wires covered in the best way they could. Also, the bathroom was terrible: extremely small and organised in the most inefficient way, we couldn’t take a shower without wetting everything inside...

Golden Legend Palacae Hotel is a true gem in Hanoi. We will definitely always choose this hotel each time we will travel to Hanoi. The check-in and check-out process were very smooth. They also allowed us to check in early at 12:00PM. We availed of their affordable airport transfer and we were picked up from the airport promptly. All the staff provided exceptional service. Communication with the staffs were very easy because they spoke and understood English very well. All our requests were also easily granted. The breakfast buffet was really delicious and there were a lot of varieties of food. The coffee tasted delicious. The room we stayed at was very spacious and clean. The bathroom had complete amenities and they also provided complimentary bottled water. Also, the bathroom was very clean and they provided shower slippers as well. The room also had good soundproofing because we barely heard noise from outside the streets all throughout our stay. The location of this hotel is perfect. Just across is a bank with ATM. It is very near to the popular cafes and restaurants in Hanoi. We also just walked around going to some of the historical places around Hanoi...
