This is one of the very good hotels in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. The location of the hotel is very good. The staffs are fantastic. they are friendly, helpful and courteous. Ms .Annie of the travel desk was kind enough to help me to select some good places for my one day trips from Hanoi. Ms. Jennie, Ms.Thu and Mr. Leon are a few of the other efficient staffs working in this hotel. The rooms are clean and airy.If there is a short coming in the room your complaint is immedietly attended to. Plenty of restaurants of various kinds including coffee shops around this hotel. Some of the most interesting places including the Hoan Kiem lake is at walking distance from this hotel. Nothing to say about their breakfast . Very ordinary. Very few ordinary foods on the table and a very few in the menu but to compensate that there are very good restaurants including road side food cafes and coffee shops around the corner. In short I am happy choosing this reasonably priced hotel in the heart of the Old Quarter. The owners can make this a grade one hotel with little more regular maintainance like cleaning the walls of the bathroom, by attending to minor repairs in the rooms like falling curtain and replacing the bulbs in the room.Overall it is a good hotel and as a regular visitor to the hotel I can recommend this hotel to the visitors to Hanoi wothout any...
Read moreI generally write positive reviews and am not a fussy traveller when it comes to hotels - I am quite content in a 3 star Asian hotel. This hotel however left a lot to be desired. When arriving at check in I asked about our welcome drink that was part of the deal and written on the paperwork. The young lady refused to provide it so no point arguing so said thanks anyway and went to the room. ||||Despite being non smoking the room and whole floor stunk of cigarettes. The bedding and single thin pillow also stunk. The walls were covered in stains as was the bathroom. The room was filthy. The small flatscreen TV was covered in scratches and marks and so bad you could not see anything. I took photos (which I will attach here) and let reception know. They told me to just watch TV on my phone instead!||||On a positive note the hotel is conveniently located to everything in the Old Quarter and I had a lovely young man check us out the following morning who helped us communicate with the private driver I had booked for the airport.||||I would never stay here again and would never recommend anyone to stay here. We only stayed after all this as it was for one night and then we were...
Read moreI’m so torn on how many stars to give this hotel. The staff here are beyond amazing and I would give them all the stars in the world, they go above and beyond to make sure you are well looked after from carrying bags, organising tours/transfers to even going beyond as to supply us with a special surprise lunch dish on our tour.
The hotel however altho comfy has many issues. We stayed 5nights and spotted not 1 but 2 mice in our room. Our room was in the attic and altho it was massive and the bed was really comfy the sheets and pillow cases were not the cleanest. The bathroom had many issues the water would easily leak out of the shower and flood the bathroom the drain was clogged so the water would take forever to disappear from the floor.
Breakfast was average but being able to have my choice of eggs from a menu was nice. The only major issue with breakfast was the amount of bugs and cockroaches that we spotted. Lucky for us we came to Vietnam with a very Open mind on what to expect so if you can handle a few bugs and mice and don’t require the cleanest of things then by all means stay here. The staff were so amazing that i would actually consider staying again...
