Came for dinner here surprisingly there were no customers (RED FLAG i chose not to heed we were hungry) and made my order at the cashier, there was zero service. I had to get my own drinks and for my party from the fridge after the food came and tissues from other tables. Pretty much self service except for the serving of the meals. Ordered bun cha the food was actually quite good but not the best I’ve had in Vietnam. An orange juice we ordered had god knows what inside and I brought it back and typed into google translate to communicate, she agreed she would not charge me for it.
When the bill came I wanted to check it properly but she kept diverting attention and when checked with google translate she charged it :). She kept trying to divert attention and doesn’t speak any English but I refused because this is a matter of principle.
We went back and forth for about 15 minutes through google translate and she made me extremely uncomfortable. During this time a rat popped out over the overhanging wires from inside the kitchen towards the cashier and one of my party shouted “ LOOK ITS a BIG ASS RAT” and it ran back in to kitchen.
Be warned, ratpee is still deadly and the restaurant DOES NOT CARE.If you sit on sidewalk like we did as the only customers of this 3 floor establishment expect roaches to be running everywhere between ur feet and chairs while waiting for your food. ( in hindsight I should have walked off after spotting the roaches even after...
Read moreWhy and how is this place still in business? And why are the ratings so high? I normally don't like to leave a below-average rating, but I do give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was an off day. Unfortunately, it was a letdown.
During my short time in Hanoi, Bun Cha became my favorite. And I've eaten at several restaurants and they were very good. But I'm far from an expert on how it's supposed to taste like.
Bun cha at this place was terrible. The portion size ratio was pitiful. With two small pork pieces and several small pieces of pork belly, but it was more like bacon strips. The broth was too sweet.
The restaurant was a mess, with several tables still needing to be cleaned when I sat down. Save your money somewhere, so many other great restaurants that offer authentic dishes and...
Read moreWe came to this restaurant for lunch, the restaurant is quite crowded. But there are 2nd and 3rd floors. The stairs up are indeed very narrow. Initially we wanted to sit outdoors, but it was too dusty outdoors. For the taste of standard Vietnamese food, not bad but nothing very special to come back again. Standard service, because we were on the 2nd floor. Of course they did not prepare staff on the 2nd floor. But until we finished eating, the drinks did not come. This place in our opinion is indeed for tourists to try bun cha. the atmosphere of the place is ordinary, there is nothing to discuss. if you want to try a more local taste, you should try looking for another place but if you want to find a taste that is safe for our tongues as tourists, you can try coming to...
