Five Boys Number One Smoothies — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Stumbled upon this place, 5 Boys, on my 1st night in Bui Vien Walking Street on March 9, 2025 after walking up n down for 1/2 hour searching high n low for a stall / shop that sells Vietnamese black coffee.

The iced Vietnamese black coffee really blew me away. It was exceptionally good with a great price and the best I've had in my entire 11 days trip to Vietnam that took me to Hanoi, Sapa, Halong Bay with the last 3 days spent in Ho Chi Minh City.

It's unfortunate that the stall does not serve its coffee hot. Otherwise it would have been even more mind-blowing.

The location of 5 Boys is one of the best for people watching n witnessing the transformation of Bui Vien Walking Street after the sun sets to the beat of party music n a vibrant night scene.

I wanted to have noodles at the adjacent stall as I had rice earlier but alas, they do not serve noodles.

On my 2nd night in HCM, I made it a point to have my dinner at 5 Boys n Boy ol Boy, it does not disappoint.

My dinner consisted of a slice of deep fried fish, 4 fried prawns, slices of cucumbers n tomatoes and a small bowl of spinach soup accompanied with rice.

Although it only costs VND 70,000, it was definitely one of the best dinners I've had during this trip to Vietnam.

The operators of the drinks n foods stalls are very friendly. I later found out from the SYT who served me that the drinks n foods stall are family-operated / related.

I will definitely patronise the drinks n foods stalls again when I visit HCM again, hopefully in the not too distant future.

Would strongly recommend visitors / tourists to try the iced Vietnamese black...

Five Boys is a smoothie stall located in an alley/corner in the middle of Buu Vien street, one of the busiest streets in Ho Chi Minh City! The smoothies at Five Boys are so very tasty and satisfying. I think this is attributable to them mixing real fruit and not adding things like ice and sugar, which I do not prefer. I think you can ask to add sugar if you prefer.

The ladies are very nice but I think they do not speak much English so be prepared to point and use hand gestures to communicate what your order. You can mix and match fruits: mix 2 for 25k vnd or mix 3 for 30k vnd.

The best part of this experience is sitting in an alley on a little colorful stool, enjoying a nice, cold healthy smoothie, escaping the hot and humid Vietnam weather. You can also enjoy people watching the nearby and very crowded Buu...

It’s located at a small sidewalk beside the pub look around when google maps says you’ve arrived cause there might be many people blocking the road If go by night there will be another stall selling squid and chicken wings which is very delicious and cheap The smoothies are great and delicious as well with a cheap price I’ve ordered durian smoothies to try because I’m a Malaysian and I do think Malaysia durians are the best so firstly I think the taste of smoothies might be weird but it ended up impressing me with a delightful taste *not recommended for those who doesn’t like durian to order this because the smell of durian is very heavy just like putting durian into your mouth
