Hue Sweethouse 2 Homestay — Hotel in Hue City

Worst hotel reception experience I’ve ever had.

We booked two large rooms, but one of them was double-booked. At first, they even suggested that my husband and I share a room with another guest — which was completely unacceptable. The woman at the front desk was incredibly pushy and unprofessional, bringing up her personal problems (being sick, her husband leaving, “10 years in the business” etc.) — none of which were relevant or appropriate in this situation. She tried to manipulate me into canceling the reservation on Booking.com, and offered a so-called “discount” that was actually the same price we had already paid. It was impossible to have a reasonable conversation with the staff. The managers refused to listen, constantly interrupting with emotional arguments and fake discount offers, basically trying to cover up their mistake by cheating us. After contacting Booking.com support, they eventually found us a solution — but instead of two large rooms, we were given two small rooms, and it was unclear whether they planned to recalculate the price or charge us the original amount. Lovely home stay made even better by the wonderful staff - Sam and Anh. I was able to check into my room quickly and they gave me recommendations of activities and pointed me in the direction of good restaurants.

The room was clean and spacious (a luxury after 3 weeks of solo travel and hostels) for a great price. I spent the day with an easy rider that Sam booked for me - he was lovely and I felt very safe with him.

Breakfast was included which I was asked to order the night before. I had the yogurt bowl which was tasty and a coffee.

I had to check out by 11am but my overnight bus wasn’t until 11pm. Anh said I was very welcome to leave my bags for the day and even allowed me to have a shower before my bus (which was needed after a day in the sun), charge my phone and relax in the lobby in the evening before I left for my bus !

Great location very close to walking street - would 100% recommend to anyone...

Sweethouse homestay was even better than expected. It is located very close to the streets with a lot of bars, restaurants and shops, but also close to the Citadel and the market, where you can walk or take grab bikes. The room was very clean, had everything we needed, had a cute view from the balcony and overall bigger than expected, quite luxurious! They took the time to give us useful tips on what to see, how go get around and recommended some great coffe places and restaurant, we loved Madam Thu the most - it is very good, has big portions & is very cheap, we even went there twice in our 1,5 days in Hue. They arranged easyriders for us, who took us to the most wonderful attractions, we really recommend using this service, the riders were nice & super helpful.
