We had the good fortune of stumbling on this gem when booking a stay for a week in Hue.
This little family own hotel is a dream for travelers.
The best part of the stay has to be beautiful family that runs it. From the moment you step in, your a welcomed by a warm service rarely seen anywhere. They genuinely care for the wellbeing of their guests, and it shows in all the little things.
The hotel is in a great location. Near to plenty of restaurants, a lively nightlife, and walking distance to the Imperial City.
The rooms are nice for the price point, with comfortable beds and AC. We would recommend getting a Deluxe room if one is available as the huge windows, balcony, and extra space is really worth the few dollars they ask for the upgrade.
The included breakfast is "a la carte", and pretty much as much as you can eat. They have eggs different ways, bread, homemade jam, soup, pancakes, fruits, fresh juice, coffee, tea, etc. They even let you have it at any time of the day.
They have a small pool in the back. A rarity for a small hotel in Vietnam in general, and in Hue in particular.
They can also provide multiple services like transport to nearby cities, motorbike rentals, tours, and more for very reasonable prices.
Even the mini fridge optional water and beers are offered at pretty much the same price as the local convenience store.
All those little things, plus the human touch offered by the family makes this a place you can book with confidence. You'll be happy you did.
They deserve all the positive...
Read moreThis small family hotel is easily in the top three hotels I've stayed at in 30 years of traveling. if you want a "resort" style experience with large pool, fancy room, etc. look elsewhere. If you want to feel you're staying with a family member or old friend, this is the place.
And it begins with check-in, where for 30 years i stood while they did the paperwork. Here, Laura sits you down with a snack (mango shake in my case) while she takes care of the paperwork. As in much of Vietnam, the elevator is "Asian" sized and so she or her husband takes your luggage to the room and then they escort you to it to show you features. She gives you a map and shows you local sites, such as the Imperial Citadel.
The morning breakfast offers a variety of egg entrees (scrambled, omelette, fried) as well as other items such as banana pancakes, bahn mi bread, fruit and that strong Vietnamese coffee. Internet is strong and it appears there is a network on each floor.
The hotel is in an excellent location, down an alley off a main road around the corner from the Perfume River. so you won't hear any traffic. (There's a river view cafe at the top of the alley where hotel is and has great salt coffee, which originated in Hue, for about $1 and is very busy at sunset.) There are three interconnected "walking streets" (possibly only on weekends) full of restaurants.
Since the alley is too small for a taxi, Laura walked with us to the top of the street...
Read moreI would give this place six stars if possible! I ended up here because the first hotel I booked (Amy hotel) was absolutely disgusting and had cockroaches and holes in the door! Luckily this place had a space and thank God! The owners are so friendly, they help me with every request I had including where to go and nice cafes and less touristy places to see, they have really good motorbikes to rent including latest smart key automatic in terms of the rooms and the breakfast they're quite basic don't expect Sheraton or Hilton, but for the area it's incredibly good value considering other hotels nearby are in far worse condition and with a much higher price. I really felt like I was staying with a family that cares rather than just a hotel chain. So much so I extended by several days. I already miss the whole family. If you want a delightful, calm and sweet family home stay, this is the place for you! Obviously if you're looking for a party hotel or five star then this is not. So far it's been my favourite place to stay out of 2 months of backpacking!! Tôi nhớ...
