Mintea Hostel — Hotel in Hue City

I arrived in hue after a long bike ride up from Hoi An. We saw the back packers and asked if they had room, the rates here are exceptional ! ($4.50) and for that price I was expecting the dorm to be a little dingy. But nontheless I was pleasantly surprised to find the dorms immaculately clean, and having two private showers in the dorm room and two private toilets, separated from eachother ! (Anyone travelling knows that they usually have showers and toilets practically on top of eachother, so this is a real luxury) the receptionist was so amazing , she gave us great advice and was so warm and friendly. My friend broke his phone and she also organized a place for him to go and fix it the very next day. Couldn’t have asked for...

A new hostel. The dorms are enormous, with lockers under the beds that fit a backpack, power socket and light next to each bed, big mattresses, good hot showers and separate toilets. The WiFi is good, except in the dorm. Free breakfast in the morning. The hostel lacked a little atmosphere but the staff is very friendly and attentive. The lady that works there helped me buy my trainticket and I think she had to go and buy it at a store for me. That is so kind of her. They also help you plan your day and organize trips. The location is excellent; close to the bars and restaurants and a 15 minute walk from the citadel. Tip: have some food at the Hot Tuna restaurant on the corner close...

Excellent value for money! The cheapest on our trip so far. Dorm rooms are clean and aircon is always available. Showers and toilets are decent. Great location - next to the tourist area. Extremely friendly staff who helped us book a tour and helped us clean up after we arrived back cold and muddy! They even helped us find a possession we had left with the tour operator by mistake. Quiet which suited us (though this may have been because it’s low season). Overall...
