Cơm Niêu Chạn is known for its authentic Hue-style cuisine, featuring rich flavors and fresh ingredients. The dishes are well-seasoned, not too oily, and cooked to perfection. Must-try dishes: • Cơm niêu – Steamed rice served in a traditional clay pot with a crispy bottom. • Thịt kho tộ – Braised caramelized pork with deep umami flavors. • Canh chua cá bớp – A flavorful sour fish soup that is refreshing and well-balanced. • Rau luộc kho quẹt – A simple yet delicious vegetable dish served with a rich, savory dip.

The traditional wooden décor combined with warm lighting creates a cozy and nostalgic atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a traditional Vietnamese meal. The restaurant is spacious and airy, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. The use of bamboo and natural elements enhances the authentic Hue dining experience.

The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The service is fast and efficient, even during peak hours. Reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. The restaurant provides great value for money, especially for groups and families.

Tip: It’s popular during peak hours, so consider making a reservation or visiting slightly earlier for lunch or dinner to...

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Chan in Hue and WOW – what an unforgettable experience! ✨

We ordered a set menu and it felt like a delicious journey through Hue’s authentic local cuisine. Every single dish was bursting with flavor – rich, vibrant, and beautifully presented. Honestly, it was some of the best food I’ve ever tasted in Vietnam.

The restaurant itself was spotless, modern yet cozy, and gave off such a welcoming vibe. But what really made the night special was the incredible service. Our server THU was outstanding – warm, attentive, and fluent in English. She even suggested we reduce our order a little since the portions were already generous (and she was right!). That kind of honesty and care is so rare and truly appreciated.

From start to finish, THU radiated kindness and positive energy. Her smile and thoughtful recommendations elevated the whole dining experience. Thanks to her, we didn’t just have dinner – we had a memorable evening that I’ll be talking about for a long time.

If you’re in Hue, you MUST eat here. This isn’t just a meal, it’s a feast for...

This was unfortunately one of the least enjoyable experiences during our stay in Vietnam.

We sat on the table and asked the staff about the vegetarian menu, the waitress kindly pointed to us where we could look, plenty of options so we ordered 3 dishes. Later on, another waitress brought us 3 appetizers, I asked them if they were “chay” (vegetarian) she nodded without being super convincing. We tasted, and seemed 1 was beef and two were fish.

Later on the food arrived, the tofu with peppercorn and mushrooms was delicious, the fig salad was alright - interesting experience as it tasted like chicken but apparently it’s the taste of this type of fig - glad we tried regardless. The disappointment was the rice. It arrived in a clay bowl and half seemed to be stuck on the bottom , as if it stayed there too long.

The place looked very full so might be that certain things just didn’t work for us due to luck, hence...
